Former
GUNS N' ROSES axeman
Slash performed a version of the band's classic "Welcome to the Jungle" at the end of
Bill Gates' final
Consumer Electronics Show keynote speech before retiring from Microsoft Sunday (January 6) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to the
Digital Noise blog, "the final set piece featured a
Guitar Hero III battle between
Gates and
Microsoft Entertainment and Devices President
Robbie Bach. Each brought in a ringer —
Bach got a
Guitar Hero champion who shredded the introduction to
GUNS N' ROSES'
'Welcome to the Jungle'.
Gates, never to be trumped, brought in
Slash, who played the real thing on his
Les Paul through a pair of
Marshall half-stacks."
