unfortunately i'm not expecting much from this album - i liked Come Clarity but it wasnt exactly up there with Whoracle and Colony. In Flames are a bit like Metallica - once they got more commercial, they went downhill and i think theyve probably lost what they once had which made them amazing, after Reroute and especially Soundtrack. and they were very disappointing when i saw them live in the summer. still, if this ones as good as Come Clarity i'll be pretty pleased.

EMO is far from what the Gothenburg guys are doing. They're not completely melodic death anymore, they're more like regular heavy metal, but they certainly aren't emo.

I'm an IF loyalist and have been since the first album, so I will of course buy this album and each one after it. I can't not enjoy In Flames, being that they're the ones who got me into extreme metal to begin with.

IF are at a level where everything is business, where they make money, and thats why this sloppy ass artwork. They want to break out of the metal image and conquer a more commercial market. The last good album they did was Reroute To Remain, which contained nothing but hitsongs. And yes the artwork sucks big time cause it looks like a Korn rip off (even the logo, which btw reminds me of The Faceless logo), but thats just a matter of taste.

No, it's not a cover of the Audislave song! The band went throught the record song by song in Swedens biggest news paper "Aftonbladet" and Anders friden said it's not a cover.

You people actually think artwork should dictate the sound of a band? I guess Black Sabbath should have been more "commercial" then cuz their covers were certainly not reflective of their sound (well, that latter ones anyway). Same goes for Meshuggah, older Metallica, Opeth...the list could go on and on.

Get over it - even if artwork sucks doesn't mean the music will. Get past the materialistic aspects.

their old shit is legendary but rtr, stye and come clarity rock as well... just different sound, but very good in another way.. still metal, just another flavour...
i mean, are you trying to tell me that 'cloud connected', 'the quiet place', 'my sweet shadow', 'take this life' and 'vanishing light' are emo? mainstream rock? brainless fabricized music?
dont fucking think so

and the artwork rocks

come clarity was cool but the artwork was just what was trendy at the time

That said Come clarity didn't seem to have that lasting effect...like Whoracle or Colony or even re route which honestly their last good album IMO. Keeping my fingers crossed.

What the f@#k is wrong with the artwork? IF have changed visual styles in the past. Reroute was different for the time, and Come Clarity was again another style.

And ANYONE who claims "Come Clarity" is a shitty album, but also likes Clayman and Colony, is a f@#$in' a-hole. Come Clarity was the best album since Clayman, and one of the best EVER. (How the f@#k can someone say that Take This Life and Crawl Through Knives is EMO???)

i have never understood why people seems be so close with their mind to think that commercial=shit ..not everything that is commercial must be a shit or probably no one in europe or in america will going to Iron Maiden Concerts anymore! yes i guess they are the most commercial things in the world right now and all metalheads keep on going to their gigs without any problem and they don't make a good album from almost 15 years!! i'm an "old" in flames fan but i still love their music cuz they still making this work with HONESTLY and PASSION ! but i agree to with who think that artwork is not so amazing i still prefer niklas sundin way to work but every new is welcome to me!! i don't want to lack of respect to other people only want to defense the music that i love from many years! In flames are a fucking great live band and i can't wait to see them live for the 6th times :D ! good day it's only an opinion bye
