ION VEIN Announces New Vocalist - Jan. 14, 2008

Chicago's ION VEIN has issued the following update:

"We are very pleased to announce the addition of vocalist Allen James to the band! Allen brings a wealth of stage and studio experience to the band as well as a ton of energy and we’re extremely excited to have him onboard!

"We started working together back in August last year and were finally able to get in the studio with [producer] Neil [Kernon; NILE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, NEVERMORE, DEICIDE] in December/January to get vocals down for four tracks to shop. Rather than bore you with a bunch of hype, we'll just let the music do the talking… Check out a couple rough mixes here and we'll see you onstage soon!"

As previously reported, ION VEIN is tracking its third album with Kernon at Rax Trax studio in Chicago and will be shopping for a new label home upon completion.

	The music is great, of course. The singer obviously has a good voice and is skilled, but he's doing some things that are a bit unorthodox - such as phrasing etc, so it will take some getting used to.

	Music's not bad, but the vocalist is pretty weak. Very weak sounding voice, like there's nothing behind it. Bad bad lyrics too. Sounds like they settled for this guy just to get things going again.
