Reunited EXTREME Performs At NAMM; Video Available - Jan. 28, 2008
Bay Area Backstage has posted video footage of reunited hard rockers EXTREME — featuring original members Nuno Bettencourt, Gary Cherone, Pat Badger and new sticksman Kevin Figueiredo — performing a private show at this year's winter NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show on January 18, 2008 at the Hilton in Anaheim, California.

Watch the 13-minute clip below.

EXTREME performed a three-song set at the Boston Music Awards on December 1, 2007 at the Orpheum in Boston consisting of "Slide", "Decadence Dance" and "Communication Breakdown".

EXTREME's as-yet-untitled studio album with all-new material — the band's fifth — is set to be released in the spring.

In a recent interview with BostonHerald.com, Bettencourt described the new album as a "straight-up rock record" that expands on EXTREME's funk-metal sound.

The new CD was the key to getting back together as a full-time band, he said. EXTREME did a handful of gigs last summer, including a gig at the Bank of America Pavilion in July, but Bettencourt wasn't interested in becoming a permanent part of a nostalgia act.

"Even though we wanted to do something for years, we had to have something new to offer," he told BostonHerald.com. "In the last six months we started writing some great songs. If they weren't, we wouldn't be doing this."

Not that I'd get off my ass and see them in concert but that's one hell of a song that they wrote right there.

Extreme is one of the few bands that came out of the late 80's-early 90's that can still come out, kick ass and be relevant w/ thier new tunes! Seen them many times live...very good live band.

Ok...extreme is back. I always likes this band. Their vibe is unique, especially in their first two albums. I really receive this reunion with open arms. If they want only to tour...That's ok. But they say they're writing material for a new album. So...This guys have been doing some different things musically speaking. And the only way to do it right is to write one hell of an album, similar to PORNOGRAFFITTI, which I consider their finest hour. Hard to say, considering how "non-funk" their last album was...I just hope they'll will shut me up with one great comeback album...

One of my favorite bands from the 90s and I can't wait to hear the new album. It's definitely one of my most anticipated albums of 2008.

One of the many bands that killed metal's heyday decides to give it another go...wonderful. I sure hope they "get the funk out"...y'all get that out there? FUNK OUT! HAHAHAHA...it killed me then and it kills me even more now. The absolute numero uno band I hate...out on tour. Maybe they can get together with Slaughter and Firehouse and call it the "Bands That Inspired Cobain To Come Out and Annihilate Metal Tour". Back in the day they liked to compare themselves to Queen...which of course would be absolutely true if Queen had written the most cliched and childish lyrics ever...pretended to be "funky" and "groovin'"...and wrote big time sell out love ballads.

Words cannot express how much I hate this band. I could go on for pages...
