WITHIN TEMPTATION: More 'Black Symphony' Concert Footage, Photos Available - Feb. 11, 2008
Markus Rutten of Sounds2Move.de has uploaded a number of photos from Dutch symphonic metallers WITHIN TEMPTATION's sold-out Black Symphony concert on February 7, 2008 at Ahoy in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Check them out at this location. Fan-filmed video footage of the show can be viewed below.

Black Symphony was a unique concert featuring WITHIN TEMPTATION backed by the 60-piece Metropole Orchestra and a 35-voice classical choir in a spectacular stage setting, backed by Europe's largest video screen (400 sqm) and spiced-up by stunning pyrotechnic and light displays.

Support at the gig came from LIFE OF AGONY frontman Keith Caputo, who also joined the headliners for a rendition of the song "What Have You Done?"

The group's setlist was as follows:

01. Jillian (I'd Give My Heart)
02. The Howling
03. Stand My Ground
04. What Have You Done
05. The Cross
06. Hand of Sorrow
07. The Heart of Everything
08. Forgiven
09. Somewhere
10. The Swan Song
11. Memories
12. Our Solemn Hour
13. The Other Half (Of Me)
14. The Promise
15. Angels
16. Mother Earth
17. Frozen
18. Truth Beneath the Rose
-----------------
19. Deceiver of Fools

Something about that all that shit that's huge in Europe.....all the symphonic ...dramatic....uh....STUFF.....I just don't get it. Is that supposed to be heavy? Or something? Why is it on Blabbermouth? This and that Nightwish band....it's exactly the same thing to me. You could swap the bands and music with each other...and I could NOT tell the difference.

I guess that's what's big in Europe.
I guess.

I can't speak for Nightwish, but Within Temptation used to be more "metal" back in the day. The guitarist sang guttural vocals, but they've since dropped that after seeing the success of some other bands (I suspect).

One thing that is true, regardless of one's opinion on their music, the lead singer of Within Temptation is gorgeous!

Having not heard any of Within Teptations previous releases, I took a chance and bought their latest release. Even though I am a huge fan of Nightwish, I have to admit that the female fronted symp bands are really starting to to get old. After listening to 'Heart of Everything,' I can honestly say that I like every song on the album...good stuff. Evanessence gives bands like this a band wrap, just because Evanessence is so one dimentional. I urge people to check out WT.
