HENRY ROLLINS To Guest On 'The Metal File' - Feb. 20, 2008
Punk rock icon Henry Rollins will be the featured guest on "The Metal File" with Mike Metal this Friday night, February 22 at midnight (technically Saturday morning) on CHOM 97.7 FM in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

You can listen to the show live via the Internet at www.chom.com.

Henry Rollins was a guest on "The Woody Show" last month on San Francisco's KITS Live 105. Listen to the chat at this location.

Rollins wrote in a recent online posting, "The good folks at IFC have asked if I would do three 'Live & Uncut' specials for 2008. Some of you may be familiar with the ones I did for them from New York and Israel. The first one will be shot in South Africa in February, the next will be in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I don't know where the third one will be yet. We won't be doing the regular show this year, they like it better when I am out and about and they got a very good response on the Israel show and want to do more. I am happy to be working with them again this year.

"In 2008 I will release two books: 'Fanatic! Vol. 3' and 'A Preferred Blur'. I don't have firm release dates yet as they are both being worked on."

Rollins recently hit the road for another round of European and North American dates on his tongue-bustingly titled tour, Provoked: An Evening Of Quintessentially American Opinionated Editorializing And Storytelling.

Rollins' European jaunt kicked off January 14 at Lorensbergsteatern in Gothenburg, Sweden, and included stops in Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Belgium, the U.K. and Ireland.

The North American leg got rolling again this past Tuesday (February 19) at First Avenue in Birmingham, Ala., and runs through mid-March.

Let it go. How many times do we have to point out that Rollins is a fan of Slayer, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, etc. Jeez...

Ol' Hank is coming to my town in March - I've got my tickets!

Henry Rollins isn't metal. Henry Rollins made fun of metal. Now that his genre is a distant memory and metal is still standing, he tries to change his tune...whatever. Rollins had NOTHING good to say about those bands back in the day.

COMMENT | Supposedly Rollins poked fun at Venom too...

...back in the day, when Black Flag opened for them. Rollins laughed when they had fans on stage to blow their hair up to make them look cool. Also, he thought they were chanting "Black Funky Metal".

Whatever, Rollins + Venom are both cool. Maiden rule. If you haven't yet, check out the movie "Lies + Alibis" (Rollins is in it) - great flick.

Because wasn't Rollins on Sanctuary Records a few years back? Yeah I know he gave Maiden shit.. He probably just thought they were ripping off THin Lizzy, its probably just a generational thing. BY 1981, he was mainly more into punk and though he still liked the 70s metal/hard rock, he was getting into the hardcore scene alot more. I think its stupid for what its worth what he says/said about Maiden. I used to wear Black Flag AND Maiden shirts in middle/high school- yeah I'm a real weirdo but I've always been a fan of bother.
