YNGWIE MALMSTEEN: NAMM 2008 Performance Footage Posted Online

Video footage of legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen performing at the Roland booth during this year's winter NAMM ( National Association of Music Merchants) show, which was held January 17-20 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, can be viewed below (courtesy of "kalibsumter"). Yngwie Malmsteen will attend the Musikmesse Frankfurt 2008 fair in Germany, which runs from Thursday, March 13 to Saturday, March 15. Yngwie will take part in clinics and autographs at the Fender Booth in Hall 4 / Booth E08, and he will also play a concert on Friday night with the entire YNGWIE MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE band at the Agora Stage. Yngwie's clinics are open for the general public as well as VIP musicians. You will need to buy a ticket to get into the Musikmesse, but once you're in, all clinics at the Fender booth are free.

guitart work is plain technical which imo hardly makes up for good song writing. Sounds like that christmas commercial song with the house and the lights.

i also thought that was awesome of him. from what i remember, the concert was in brazil and people were mocking the 9-11 incident. derek sherinian was the keyboardest and refused to play the encore after what he saw. yngwie went out and played the star spangled banner as the encore by himself, and when the crowd started booing and saying bad shit about america, he told them to fuck off and walked off the stage. that's some huge balls, and yngwie will always have my respect for that.

he's awesome-played with some of the great singers - brought forth "bach rock " his early stuff with KEEL was killer,the solo for HOT ON YOUR HEELS, c'mon , if you havent heard that, then you need too.!!! then ALCATRAZZ nobody but blackmore was playing arpeggio's like him.

claim that this dude is an asshole, so are a lot of people out there, like your boss, president, ex. bottom line is that he is a fucking great guitar player and thats pretty much all you can say about him. Now, if your upset cause he's not your friend or friendly enough, you got problems man. He's the original of many (mabye a lot nicer) clowns to follow and by far the best.

YNGWIE has no comparison, even EVH isn't in his league, as of last time I saw him play.
Just saw the latest VH show & DLR was more like a vegas showman, not a Rock Star singer. Wouldn't spend that much to see them again...
