Former KORN Guitarist To Perform At CORNERSTONE FESTIVAL - Feb. 24, 2008

Kornzone.pl reports that former KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch will perform at this summer's Cornerstone Festival, set to take place June 30 – July 5 in Bushnell, Illinois.

According to the festival's web site, Welch will make an appearance on one of the festival's side stages on the event's closing day, Saturday, July 5.

Since leaving KORN in 2005, Welch has been working on his debut solo album, tentatively titled "It's Time to See Religion Die", but has yet to set an official release date for the CD.

In a recent interview with the "Life Today" television show, Welch reportedly said that he is "almost done mixing" the album, but is waiting for God to tell him the right time to release it.

"It's Time to See Religion Die" was recorded at Fortitude Studios in Phoenix, Arizona with the help of drummer Josh Freese (A PERFECT CIRCLE, NINE INCH NAILS) and bassist Trevor Dunn (MR. BUNGLE, FANTOMAS).

Welch departed KORN in February of 2005 to devote his life to Christianity and spend more time with his daughter. The band has not permanently replaced him, using touring and session guitarists instead.

	Rottin Elvis- Obviously wanted his cd to sound good so he got the best hired guns he could think of. Doesnt say these dudes will be playing him at cornerstone, however it wouldnt be surprising. I dont think he spent all his dough on the meth.

	Yeah, I get why he's calling the album that: he's playing "provocateur" by coming out with an album you'd think would sit well with Dimmu Borgir and Cradle Of Filth types, but when you shell out your $25.00 for the CD, surprise!!! He's really talking about religion in the sense of dusty old church pews, high and mighty preaching, browbeating, pointing fingers and judgementalism, etc. There's a line that many funda-gelicals like to parrot, "Jesus ain't religion, He's the real thing!!" Many like to give the impression that there is more substance to their faith than these stereotypical perceptions. While at the same time, they enshrine a new version of "old" religion, with new rules and stale attitudes.

	Dude - MAJOR problem with your logic. Talent or no talent, it's a safe bet this guy took a major league pay cut when he left Korn. So, your reasoning that he traded one for the other to 'get over' is completely backwards.

	I am a huge korn fan, one that was very let down when head left the band. then i figured out that they can go so much further without him and experiment alot more, basically he was holding them back. I'm all for people believing in whatever they want be it god or otherwise. But this fucker has turned into one of those creepy ass god god god all the time people. i hate that. and for him to be making this music he is is just sad. i mean has anypone heard the song a cheap name? that was an ultimate low.

	I'm a believer, but I agree that there's a lot of bovine shyte cliche's that a lot of fundamentalists spout. It's a shame, because not all believers are given to the bumper sticker theology.

	Motherfucker didn't find Jesus, he thinks he IS Jesus! Did you see the Guitar World article after he left Kornhole? He was standing there in robes with outstreched arms, in the backyard of the mansion that his devil music paid for by the way, babbling away like one of them jesus sign douches outside of every metal show.
