BLACK CROWES Manager 'Rejects' MAXIM's Apology

The BLACK CROWES' manager Pete Angelus has rejected Maxim magazine's apology for publishing a negative review of the band' new album by a writer who hadn't listened to the whole CD. According to The Associated Press, the review in Maxim's March issue gives the CROWES' "Warpaint" a rating of two-and-a-half stars out of five. The band posted an exasperated statement on its web site last week saying the Maxim writer hadn't heard the entire album because advance copies weren't available. Angelus said the magazine explained that its review was an "educated guess."

Seriously, I have a lot of respect for B.C. but I stay away from Maxim and Blender. I mean, I read both in their beguinnings but I got fed up of reading about pop and RNB pop stars I never gave a crap about.

They only review "popular" music and i am starting to hate it more and more with each passing day. Seriously my wife watches that piece of crap show "america's best dance crew" and one of the songs i think it was G-Slide by Lil Mama (stupidist name ever by the way) and she samples Wheels on the bus! Wheels on the bus for fuck's sake! Fuck that shit and long live Real Metal.

I really think that Maxim heard the record, said it sucked and that pissed off the Black Crowe's and their label. Saying their new super hyped album sucks, would crush record sales. Please like Maxim and any other magazine arent paid by their sponsors to publish good reviews. Happens in every industry.

"When approached for an explanation, the magazine described the review as “an educated guess preview.” Huh?"

i like the black crows but let's face it all their albums sound the same. none are exceptional or must haves for the collection, but if you're looking for some good 'ol bluesy rock to have a few pops to.......
guaranteed once the disc is legitimately reviewed it'll only get 2 - 3 stars just like all their other disc's

but here's my review.
Once again Black Crowes releases an album filled with Rolling Stones ripoffs. Rolling Stones is without doubt the worst band in the history of rock'n'roll...oh wait...Black Crowes are even worse. The singer sounds like a constipated nun giving birth to Janis Joplins zombie ghost. The rhythm section sounds like they're about to fall asleep and the guitarist thinks he's Keith Richards but he aint no pirate dammit, his riffing is boring and uninspired. This band sucks, period.

Pete Angelus was David Lee Roth's manager when he went solo back in the 80's. Pete was one of "The Picasso Brothers", along with Diamond Dave, in those videos from the first two solo albums. Yes, useless information, i know.

then how the hell did Rolling Stone magazine's (yeah, I have shit taste in reading material) Alan Light issue a full review of 'Warpaint' and give it 3.5 stars? New issue, so timing may be an issue, but it's there for all to see.
Crowes music is great to stand in a field, smoke the kind bud, and play hacky-sack to but not something I'm going to run out and buy.
If you own Southern Harmony and/or Shake Your Money Maker you've dug that well dry IMHO.
