ANTHRAX Guitarist To Guest On 'Battlestar Galactica: The Phenomenon' - Feb. 28, 2008
According to Mark Strigl of "Talking Metal", ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian will appear in the upcoming "Battlestar Galatica" half-hour special "Battlestar Galactica: The Phenomenon", which is described as a "celebrity-studded celebration" of the show's impact on pop culture. The program, which is scheduled to air on Friday, March 28 at 10:30 p.m., will also include interviews with such other celebrities as Seth Green, country music's Top Male Vocalist of 2007 Brad Paisley and "Talk Soup"'s Joel McHale.

Video footage of Scott Ian prepping a Viper for takeoff during a visit to the set of "Battlestar Galactica" can be viewed below.

When asked what got him hooked on the show, Ian said, "The webmaster for ANTHRAX is a huge fan and he kept raving about it to me in the first season, about how great it was, but I just couldn't get past the title: it's so cheesy. Then he sent me the series on DVD, and he said, just give it 15 minutes, and as soon as I started watching it, I was hooked. From the first minute, you see it has nothing to do with the original show except character names."

Hands down. I was skeptical too about this when i saw the promos but after about ten minutes I had to pick my jaw up off the floor and go change my pants. It makes every other show on right now (besides maybe some stuff on HBO or Showtime) look like total crap. Good story, good acting, good effects and lots of smoking hot chicks. It's like Star Wars for grown ups. Now if they could just put in a metal soundtrack instead of that weird Yani music they use it would be perfect.

It's the original Battlestar or nothing. Remakes are for braindead hacks!

WTF is Rosenfeld talking about... EVERY kid our age watched the original Galactica! And, if they didn't watch it, they KNEW about it!

And what impact did it have on the culture? Absolutely NONE... LOL

well.. other than we can say frack when we mean fuck, but that's about it...

(Starbucks Coffee was around before Dirk Benedict first got into a Viper)

What if Scott Ian made good music again? I mean he's a phenomenal actor in that it's a phenomenon why anyone would hire him.

Scott is not acting in this show. He is interviewed. Funny how people do not even bother reading the article before they start posting their lame comments.

The newer BSG is much better than the older one. The seventies BSG was like a poor mans star wars
