OZZFEST 2008 To Hit London In July? - Mar. 12, 2008
Kerrang.com reports that Ozzfest 2008 is strongly rumored to be coming to the UK with a one-off show at London's 02 Arena on July 19.

OZZY OSBOURNE, who begins a series a South American tour on March 30 with KORN and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, looks set to headline the one-day extravaganza.

Although promoters and agents involved with the show are remaining tight-lipped, Kerrang.com believes that other bands in the running are KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, ALICE IN CHAINS, SERJ TANKIAN, DIMMU BORGIR and LACUNA COIL.

As previously reported, the U.S. version of Ozzfest is rumored to be morphing into a two-day "destination festival" in Dallas. There has been no official word yet on what format Ozzfest will take or who will be on the bill.

The rumors come in the wake of this year's arrival of the metal-oriented Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour, which will play 30 North American amphitheaters during July and August, the time when Ozzfest is traditionally making its rounds.

Last year's Ozzfest offered free admission, with fans acquiring tickets mostly through sponsoring web sites. But the acts were not paid either, which resulted in a decidedly less than impressive main stage lineup. The Mayhem trek has already robbed Ozzfest of two potential main-stage heavyweights in DISTURBED and SLIPKNOT, with fan favorites DRAGONFORCE and MASTODON also taking part in the Mayhem tour.

OZZY OSBOURNE is likely to headline the U.S. Ozzfest as a solo act again, since his BLACK SABBATH bandmates are busy with their HEAVEN AND HELL offshoot.

The Mayhem tour is being co-produced by Kevin Lyman, who has the successful Warped and Taste of Chaos packages on his resume.

Wonder who will be on this year's Ozzfest. Well Ozzy & BLS make sense for one. Hope they add some more good bands this time.

Is it just me or does London have some of the worst fish & chips around?

For a nation that prides themselves on F&C, you'd figure they would have gotten it right by now...

I used to get that mag back around the time of the NWOBHM and because I am curious about everything, I tend to look up mjany different things on Wikipedia and decided to look up Kerrang!.! Guess where the name comes from? It's onamonapiea or however you spell it, and it's the sound of a guitar power chord being strummed. I've also looked up and found the meaning of ingenue, plur, and now I'll look up jdfu. Oh, and check out the pic for the entry of 'Jazz hands'. and that led me finding the informative article on heavy metal umlauts.

JAZZ HANDS!!!

Alice In Chains sound great live. Hopfully Sabbath will play a few dates, Dimmu would be chill too. Although the mallcore/shitty bands always out weigh the good bands I still enjoy going every year.

I went in '02 (SOAD, Down, Rob Zombie) and '07 (...it was free). Of those Kerrang are rumouring...AiC, Serj, Lacuna Coil, Dimmu would make it semi-worthwhile.

Otherwise, fuck it.

SlackerOne: "jdfu" refers to the following:

1) "Jumpdafuckup" by Soulfly.

2) The term that KNAC's DJWill uses to describe nu-metal.

3) Unless hurricane hugo's a big Soulfly or DJWill fan it probably refers to something else.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Yes, jdfu! stands for JumpDaFuckUp!, which is a Soulfly song...but I picked it up from a hilarious argument about the new Meshuggah album that took place at the Treehouse of Death.

I really hate when they're saying something like that. More so do I hate that the bands who say they don't do it for the money wouldn't tour if they weren't getting paid.

The lineup wasn't great but I gotta look at it.. Lamb of God.. or Disturbed.. yeah, Ill go LoG
