RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, NINE INCH NAILS Rumored For LOLLAPALOOZA - Mar. 12, 2008
Chicago Sun-Times reports that RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and NINE INCH NAILS are among the rumored bands for this year's Lollapalooza, scheduled for August 1-3 at Grant Park in Chicago. Meanwhile, according to Chicago Tribune music writer Greg Kot, RADIOHEAD has been booked as the "centerpiece of the festival." C3 Presents, the Austin, Texas-based company behind Lollapalooza, has stated that nothing is confirmed at the moment.

This year's Lollapalooza will be its fourth in Chicago as a destination event, following years as a traveling package. PEARL JAM closed out last year's show, which was marred by reports of webcast censoring by sponsor AT&T.

The official Lollapalooza lineup will not be announced until next month.

I've never been to Lollapalooza, but NIN and Radiohead are great bands. I don't really care for Rage, though.

You sorta contradicted yourself, because I know RATM has done the Lollapolloza tour before, and I'm pretty sure NIN has, too.

"Wow! might be the 1st time this shitty festival is actually worth attending. But only for NIN and Rage!"

What about the year with The Ramones, Soundgarden and Metallica? I've seen Metallica, in person, at least 10 times and that time blew all the others away. Them on a regular stage and no Snake Pit or oversized arena stage to run around on, etc. was killer. Them just rocking out, all facing the same way, like a regular band.

Plus Soundgarden broke up right after that.

Oh and the Ramones fucking crushed....song to song to song to song.

Wu Tang Clan played too...and WU TANG aint nothing to fuk with!

My ex-wife got a concussion in the Ramones pit....it was brutal.

WHAT???????????

As someone else pointed out earlier, besides Metallica, The Ramones and Soundgarden, Rage against the machine was there in 1992, as well as Alice in Chains, Tool, L7, Ministry, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus and some other ones I might forget, all been part of this festival over the years.

Now say it sucked again...

Oh now that's funny......they have learned to type rumored instead of just posting the letter. Yeah that would be a great show and I thought they already attended this one.....It would be a great show with NIN AND RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE!

gee great alternative lives on in chicago, a town where rock/metal is sadly on life support. maybe i'll don my chuck taylors put mousse in my hair to make it 'spiky' and wear a blazer over my smashing pumpkins t shirt smartly complimented with $150 pre ripped jeans. you can find me by the starbucks tent moping and sulking about why the world is just so rough.
