BLACK TIDE: Official 'Shockwave' Video Available - Mar. 18, 2008
After months of anticipation, Miami, Florida-based hard rock band BLACK TIDE has finally unveiled the video for its blazing single "Shockwave". The Travis Kopach-directed (BUCKCHERRY, PANIC! AT THE DISCO) directed clip finds the group turning a non-descript suburban home into a frenzy of moshing fans and skateboarders pulling tricks on a half-pipe! The motocross bad boys of the Metal Mulisha also make an appearance making this video a throwback to the glory days of '80s metal!

Watch the clip at MTV.com.

BLACK TIDE is streaming its entire debut album, "Light from Above", on the group's imeem page (free registration required to hear full tracks). The CD, which was released today (March 18) via Interscope Records, was recorded with producer Johnny K, who has previously worked with DISTURBED, MACHINE HEAD and SOIL, among others.

BLACK TIDE burst onto the metal scene with a month-long stint opening up the main stage of Ozzfest. According to a press release, the band "not only embrace the charisma, character and unwavering attitude of those who shredded before them, but they do so in a manner that would make the virtuosos that inspired them proud. The results are a renegade metallic assault that America hasn't encountered since METALLICA killed 'em all in '83. BLACK TIDE are not only bringing music back from the dead, but they're returning the power to metal. The meltdown is long overdue…"

...so its nice they are bringing back old thrash (sort of), but this band (at this point) offer nothing new. Kind of like Airborne...why listen to them when you can listen to AC/DC?

What's the hype about?

I bought the record and it isn't thrash, it's like 80's Sunset Strip party pop metal. And it's nothing original. It's fun, yes, trailblazing or revolutionary, no.

I agree with the comment above - they are like a tribute act, a la Airbourne.

Maybe as they get older and develop they will create an original sound.

Saw them at ozzfest and they were ok! But compare them to Metallica.... please, not even close. I'm not talking about music itself, it is the whole atittude.
But they are doing their rock and I have to congrat. them for that.

Jailbait is a jagoff..and a metal poser.

I remember when we would beat people like you up back in the day, based strictly on you being a damned sissy poser, running his mouth about shit he knows completely nothing about.

As for anyone else that thinks these guys don't kick ass...you don't know metal.

I really like these guys, they are pretty awesome. They have cool music, nice lyrics and well... they are awesome. Sure, their music might not sound original, but one has to really listen to their tracks... besides, their imagination and creativeness is just beggining.

Everyone has their taste, so to those fuckers who think Black Tide sucks, I say Go to Hell!

IF YOU DONT FUCKIN' LIKE BLACK TIDE, THEN WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE READING UP ON THEM AND COMPLAINING ABOUT THEIR SHIT?! KEEP YOUR FUCKIN' HANDS AWAY FROM THE KEYBOARD IF ALL YOU GOTTA WRITE IS "they suck balls that have been on ass that has been dead for three days on tuesday" AND LEAVE SPACE FOR THE FANS.

COMMENT | BLACK TIDE still RISING !!!!

...After listening to this cd for a week...THESE GUYS still ROCK! OK...the Metallica references need to stop ~ they ain't close, but BLACK TIDE has energy and at least their attempting. The solos are pure METAL energy...

MUCH RESPECT!
