LITA FORD Is Back: 'It's Been Way Too Long Since I've Rocked A Crowd'

'80s hard rock queen Lita Ford has signed a deal with Coallier Entertainment, the New York-based company whose list of clients includes such artists as TWISTED SISTER and SEBASTIAN BACH. In a statement released to BLABBERMOUTH.NET today by Lita Ford regarding her comeback performance in July, she had this to say: "It's been way too long since I've rocked a crowd. Broke out my axe and turned it up loud. Always in my heart — forever in my soul. On July 11th I'm gonna rock 'n' roll. At Rocklahoma I'll hit the stage with thousands of you maniacs. Close My Eyes — Kiss Me Deadly — can't forget the leather pants!" Rocklahoma festival will be held July 10-13, 2008 at the Catch The Fever Festival Grounds, four miles north of Pryor, Oklahoma. TRIUMPH and EXTREME are among the bands reuniting with all or most of their original lineups for this year's festival, which will also feature sets from NIGHT RANGER, CINDERELLA, Bret Michaels, TESLA, ARMORED SAINT, L.A. GUNS and many more. More than 85 bands in all will perform on three giant stages throughout the four days with several more big names to be added in the coming weeks.

i haven't heard any lita in awhile. she was smokin back in the day. one of my girlfriends was WAY into her back then. as far as her music goes she had some good songs as well as some godawful stuff.

Now, Rock Goddess, their early stuff is ballsy NWOBHM metal at heart. Heavy Iron Maiden influenced stuff to drink pints to. Those girls rocked.

Doro also never went away.
plus Cristina and Tarja and so
many others have replaced Lita.
Lita was all about image, outside
of "hungy" maybe, I can't stand
her songs. Kiss me deadly makes
me want to puke.
But Ann and Nancy kicked the door
open and they are also still doing
it well. Like most, they are resting
on their laurels but they do have a
great catalog to always kick it out
live.

Joan Jett has credibility, Lita really doesn't. She's said to be a great guitarist but her career really never went anywhere except for a brief moment when she posed naked behind her guitar and sang a duet with Ozzy. Her music is lame '80s pop-metal fluff and hasn't held up for shit.

once again you ignorant losers show your jealousy with your inane comments about someone who not only was hot but also rocked! never heard doro or any of the other girl rockers you toss out as better than Lita. so once again because someone you liked was not talented enough to write hit songs and get airplay the ones who did must suck? get a life losers! there were plenty of bands I liked backed then that never sold alot or got airplay but you don't hear me whining about the fact Saxon never got airplay or mtv play do you? or what about starfighters? what about starz? or how about angel city I could go but I would hope you get the point and that would be she did not suck because she sold alot of records and despite what you think that's why you get into music to begin with.

Her first 2 releases for Mercury Records are some of the best slabs of Adult Oriented Rock (AOR), alongside....The first couple of Motley Crue's, Wasp's, Ratt and the first Black N Blue CD.

She was as good as any of the guys who did pop metal. Her song 'Larger than Life' is actually a kick ass straight heavy metal tune. She really disappeared for quite a while. I'm glad she has surfaced again.

Let's really be honest hear I grew up in the 80's a listened to plenty of glam bands as well as other rock and metal. Lita was a second tier band at best. And i am not talking about albums sold. The main reason she sold many albums at all was because of ozzy and the fact that many of us were in high school at the time and she was one of the very few women in rock that was kinda of hot at the time.
Not saying I wouldn't check out a show with her if she came around but there are a lot better band/solo artist that came out of the glam area.

I am not Lita Ford expert, I have 2 of her albums, but a musicians private life has nothing to due with there music.
I hate to say this, but if my favorite artist made an all time classic album, but later went on to do something like the bizarre shit that happened in Norway. I still can seperate the art from the artist.
I ignore all those non-issues, a artist skin color, gender, dates famous people or not, has a religion that is opposite of mine, has a poltical affiliation that is opposite of mine.
I would rather collect the best CD's from the best artist all over the world, no matter what sub-genre they are in and no matter where the live instead of just " accessoring " my collection with " more of the same .
This lady has her fans, and if you want to sway us from not liking her music, talk about that.
Been a fan of Lita's since 1983...NOTHING you do can change that fact !!!!!!!!!

I was never a fan of hers, but she was a regular customer of mine during the 90's, at a record store. She had a couple of kids with Jim, and lived in my town, regularly coming into the mall, looking like a soccer mom. She does not look like she did back then, although she is still pretty! I remember her buying a Marilyn Manson CD, because John used to be in her band. If there is still a market for it......go with it girl!

with all the T&A bullcrap in her videos, album covers, etc., I don't care how hard she rocks or how good her songs are. Sure, she could probably blow away 50-60% of the guitarists out there (doesn't anyone SOLO anymore?!?!?), but that doesn't mean crap in today's music world. All anyone will want to see is her "leather pants," and that's her fault!!!
