VELVET REVOLVER Hanging Backstage With ROBERT PLANT; Photo Available - Mar. 23, 2008
VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum has posted the following message regarding the band's March 22 concert at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall in Wolverhampton, England:

"After the last couple of days and all the craziness, [we] had a really cool surprise: Robert Plant [LED ZEPPELIN] came into our dressing room and we had a nice sit-down with him for a least an hour. It's so weird, even though here I am playing in bands for all these years and meeting so many famous musicians and people. This was really a highlight. What a great guy. [I] have met him before when I was with THE CULT. He came to a show at Manchester Apollo. As well as last time with VR there. Tonight was just cool and more intimate, I guess. We just shot the shit. A few road stories and he told me he wrote 'Black Country Woman' about a girl that was from the area we were playing in called Wolverhampton. Wow, trivia from the man himself. His son was in the opening band and Dad was playing roadie for the night. The band is called AURA and they were young and rockin'. Very blues-based — a lot like ZEP. Also on the bill is Scott Ian's [ANTHRAX] band with his girl Pearl, another kid of rockstar Meat Loaf. Awesome singer and great performer. Cool to hang with Scott; good friend and cool dude. So pretty cool night all in all. Got more good news from L.A. after getting on the bus on the way back to Birmingham. Mike Inez from ALICE IN CHAINS went in my new clothing store and bought one of my leather jackets. Like I said, keepin' the rock alive and very well."

A photo of VELVET REVOLVER (minus singer Scott Weiland) and Robert Plant hanging out backstage last night (Saturday, March 22) in Wolverhampton, England can be found at this location.

MAYBE THIS IS ALL A FUCKING SIGN!!
MAYBE HE'S TRYING TO TELL THEM TO WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!
IF WEILAND WAS THERE HE WOULD HAVE WALKED OUT SINCE HE PROBABLY DOESNT WANT ANYTHING TO GET IN THE WAY OF HIS NEW MONEY BUSSINESS TOUR CALLED STP(WHICH I LOVE BUT SCOTT WEILAND LOST ME AS A FAN YESTERDAY)
OR MAYBE ROBERT WANTED SLASH'S HAIR...
WHO THE FUCK KNOWS BUT IF ROBERT PLANT AND JIMMY PAGE CONSIDER YOU THE ONLY TRUE ROCK BAND AROUND I'D BE PROUD UNLIKE CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE A HEROIN EGO UP THEIR ASS

nobody is calling for the guy in the picture to replace Orange Juice Boy.

Oh well, I guess Velvet Revolver will move on, while Scott Richard Kline steals his style from another singer down the road.

Why not hire Izzy & let him play guitar & sing. They could have a triple axe attack & a talented vocalist wrapped in one!!!!!

First of all please do not mention the Chili Peppers and Green Day in the same breath as Nickelback. Poor taste.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if David Cook from the current season of American Idol ends up in Velvet Revolver. He's a much better singer than Weiland is right now. Also, Slash and Randy Jackson are really good friends. It was Randy who convinced Slash to do the Lenny Kravitz track, and he actually layed down a half decent solon on the Daughtry cd. Hell, it wouldn't be a dumb move on VR's part considering Daughtry's sales figures, which fucking owned VR.

VR and William Hung... bring it on! Say what you will about his (in)ability to stay on key and his (lack of) stage presence, but Willie comes across as a genuinely nice guy. Which is more than you can say for Scott at this point in time.

I've always been a fan of Scott's and have tolerated his out of control behavior and ego, but seeing how poorly he handled his band's business publicly was the final straw for me. I was looking forward to the STP tour and even Scott's solo record.
Now I can't find myself supporting him any further.

Doesnt really matter what you bunch of whiners say...they sold out the tour in the UK...theyre very popular and theyre very good live. If you dont like em dont buy their music and dont pay to see them. End of!!

Hey, if you like Scott Ian you should check him out on Kyte.Tv. It's his own personal video journal. It gives you a behind the scenes look at tours and shows produced by Scott Ian himself.
