LINKIN PARK To Tour With JURASSIC 5, MUDVAYNE

LINKIN PARK have tapped JURASSIC 5 and MUDVAYNE to support them on the 2003 installment of the group's Projekt Revolution U.S. tour. The trek, which is set to kick off in April, will include other, as-yet-undetermined opening acts. Exact dates and venues will be announced shortly. This is the second year LINKIN PARK have gone out with Projekt Revolution and hope to make it an annual event, much like their very own little Ozzfest. LINKIN PARK's sophomore album, "Meteora", is slated for release on March 25 through Warner Bros. Records. The video for the first single off the album, "Somewhere I Belong", was directed by band turntablist Joseph Hahn.

I'm really disappointed MuDvAyNe has chosen to take this tour... they are not NU-Metal... they are actually REALLY talented musicians and and their new album "The End of All Things to Come" is brutal.
Matt McDonough and Ryan Martine (drums and bass) are the new Peart/Lee.

to open for Linkin "Stinkin" Park. If anything Linkin Park should open for them. As a matter of fact Madvayne are far superior and aren't even in the rap-nu-metal league as Stinkin Park. Mudvayne should tour by themselves or bring long better bands than this. I think a Killswitch Engage\Mudvayne co-headlinging tour would kick ass.

Linkin park...what you get when you tell a producer to make some Mtv Friendly metal...they are created for the money, by the money and they will fall as soon as they are without a hit...
Maybe Mudvayne is trying to convert some poor poor kids that thinks that Linkin park is like the most hardcore band out there, into real Rockers instead..you never know

Let me clarify-
Firstly, Rush is my favorite band- has been since the early 80's.
Secondly, I am a drummer so I know a thing or two about rhythm sections. What I meant by my comment that Martine and McDonough are accomplished musicians that play polyrhythmically and in odd time meters. They understand the concept of time and how to play with it in the context of a song. None of their songs are in 2/4 or 4/4, just like Rush. It is my contention that Martine and McDonough will do a lot to make people realize that bass players and drummers are more than "the guys in the shadows"...like Lee and Peart.
Get it?

You want great bass and drum players that understand time and give you a pounding yet grooving rhythm section. Look no further than Sam Rivers and John Otto of Limp Bizkit baby!
That new "sick and heavy" album will indeed blow your minds. I have a feeling the Lp album is gonna be pretty plain, though I could be wrong.

I like Linkin Park and I love Mudvayne, but that's one fucked up line-up. I mean, I'm probably one of only a half dozen people that read this message board that will admit to liking both bands, and I seriously doubt there are more than a few hundred people in the whole US who would be able to say they like both bands. Just look at the postings here. You either love Mudvayne and fucking hate Linkin Park or vice versa. So, those are not two bands that should tour together, because the fans won't mesh well. It's like that time Fates Warning opened for Pantera...or that huge metal fest thing in Europe where Dream Theater went on between Slayer and Machine Head...
WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY THINKING?!
Now, as for turnables being legitimate instruments and turntablists being musicians...yeah, I'm pretty much in agreement with the majority here. Turntables aren't real instruments, anymore than synthesizers. If you just want to integrate some filler sounds and interesting effects to your music, that's cool. Fear Factory and Rob Zombie do it to good effect, but it's not a position for a musician to fill. I mean, Christ, just play DAT tapes at your shows and split the band pay 4 ways instead of 5. I like American Head Charge, but the saddest thing I ever saw was them live...with two guys on synths who were trying to look busy while on stage. Pathetic. Abso-fucking-lutely pathetic.
Anyway, I don't credit Linkin Park with being excellent musicians, because they aren't. (Yes, and I'm a fan saying that.) But they still put out good music, or, rather, music that has qualities that I can still enjoy. *shrug* Not everyone has the patience or talent to play a real instrument. But if a band has a good sound - even if they just scream and beat the hell out of metal trash cans rather than play instruments - I'll still support them. But, hey, that's just me.
In any event, I'll go to the show, because I want to see Mudvayne again. And I'd like to see Linkin Park again too. I'd never put the two bands on the same stage, but...well, I don't have any say in line-ups. If I did, I'd like to see Mudvayne, Mushroomhead, and American Head Charge...opening for Rammstein, Rob Zombie, and Fear Factory (with Dino - because even if the guy was an asshole, he still made the band what they were and they always put on a fucking awesome show).

Yeah I agree that KsE and Mudvayne would make one helluva tour. But, this LP Mudvayne tour will benefit both bands. Mudvayne will get more exposure to LP fans, and Mudvayne fans will get to see LP. But what the fuck is Jurassic 5 doing there?

American Head Charge and Mushroomhead have good effects. as for Rob Zombie.....go back to a more industrial sound, not so processed and beyond obscenely layered. This bill will suck. I hope Mudvayne drops off and gives us real fans a real tour, and doesn't just try to go this bullshit bill and get pissed on every night by the MTV fucks.

You'll fucking loathe Jurassic 5. They're some shitty "band" with something like 4 or 5 MCs and 2 DJs... Apparently, not a single fucking one of them plays an actual instrument. At least Linkin Park has a few people playing instruments.
Mudvayne doesn't belong on tour with Linkin Park, but Jurassic 5 doesn't belong on tour at all. Keep that shit in the basement or garage of wherever the hell it oozed out of.
