SLASH Discusses Possibility Of Classic GUNS N' ROSES Reunion; Video Available - Mar. 28, 2008
Sky News entertainment correspondent Matt Smith talked to Saul Hudson, a.k.a. Slash, GUNS N' ROSES rock legend and member of VELVET REVOLVER, in an exclusive TV broadcast interview that was aired today (Friday, March 28) on UK's Sky News. An extended version of the interview can be viewed below.

Slash speaks about his life of sobriety, his new range of guitars — and about the odds of GUNS N' ROSES getting back together.

As previously reported, Slash has denied reports that VELVET REVOLVER is breaking up. Singer Scott Weiland stunned an audience in Glasgow, Scotland last Thursday (March 20) when he told them that they were watching "the last tour" by the group. Weiland's announcement was followed by an online war of words between him and VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum. But in an interview with England's BBC Radio 1, Slash simply said, "Well, let's put it this way — this is not VELVET REVOLVER's last tour," adding that the group planned to make a third album.

In the same interview, Slash also refuted comments made by bassist Duff McKagan that VELVET REVOLVER would open for LED ZEPPELIN on a rumored world tour. Slash said, "There's been a huge rumor going around about us opening for them and I think that was something that was taken out of context. I think as far as ZEPPELIN doing a tour, that remains to be seen."

LED ZEPPELIN has made no plans to tour yet despite an acclaimed and hugely successful reunion show in London last December.

On the other hand, Scott Weiland is reuniting with his previous group, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, for a series of shows this summer, adding fuel to speculation that VELVET REVOLVER was on its last legs.

Hope a reunion does happen sometime. I mean if VH , The Police , The Eagles etc. can all get their stuff together. GNR could very well do the same. But it probably won't be happening anytime soon.

Thsi probably WILL happen. Just yesterday in the news Axl Rose was quoted as saying "Axl Rose speaks - "I am very pleased to announce that Guns N' Roses and I are now represented by the management team of Irving Azoff and Andy Gould."

The interesting aspect of this is Irving Azoff manages Velvet Revolver........hmmmmmm, you do the math!

Instead of Velvet Revolver opening onr a Led Zeppelin tour, we'll see the reunited GnR.

That would be just about the biggest tour ever.

We're NOT watching the last tour of Velvet Revolver. We're watching the last Velvet Revolver tour with Scott Weiland singing.

It honestly wouldn't shock me if Weiland bailed to do STP full-time. One can only hope that VR has someone in mind if Scott jumps ship...

As a long time reader of Blabbermouth.net, I believe you to be correct in this assumption. The trend is most apparent recently in the "reunion" of Dave in Van Halen. Two years ago probably almost to the day, I recall reading on here that they got the same manager (Dave and Van Halen), and that "anything was possible". I still wonder about Chi Dem though, because I actually liked what I heard.

They need to re-record Chinese Democracy with the original line-up, and then tour. That would be INSANE! As much as I hate Axl, Velvet Revolver has NOTHING on Guns N' Roses.

know nothing. Fuck Axl and a GNR reunion. My respect goes towards the people who respect the fans and true rock and roll, like Slash, Duff, and Matt do. Axl just sounds like he has some dried up cum in his throat. Velvet Revolver will live longer than GNR's original line up ever did. Scott Weiland can kick that fat ass, wig-wearing, bitch's ass. Scott is also a better singer and a kick ass frontman. Long live Velvet Revolver motha fuckas!

slash's book is 99% bullshit. He didnt lie about everything but he didnt tell the WHOLE truth... My honest opinion Axl nor Slash nor Duff will turn down 50-100 million for a reunion. Axl owes something like 10 mil to the record company for Chinese Democracy, and what ive heard Axl turned the masters of Chinese Democracy over to the record execs. and they are dissapointed and think its absolute shit... Axl may have no choice but to reunite with GNR for other reasons than the obvious...
and did anyone besides me notice whenever Slash speaks about Axl it seems he walking on eggshells a bit. He used to trash him now he doesnt. I say before 2010 there will be a definate answer...

You got a fat, cornroll-wearing man with a midlife crisis now for a singer (Axl), and a band of sobered up people who seem to hate being sober who forgot how to rock a looooooooong time ago. Only thing that would get Slash and crew rocking again is lots of booze, sex and drugs like the old days.

Snakes And Barrels anyone?

Dude you are outside your mind if you think weiland is a better singer/ frontman than Axl. There is no comparison what so ever! Range of voice Axl has it all over him. We will not even talk about lyric writing. Weiland is awful at writing lyrics. The new velvet revolver lyrics are out right so bad that it actually killed the album because the music is not that bad which is sad. Axl Rose is the last great Front Man of Rock n Roll, and Rock n' Roll so needs him right now. Dr Pepper even knows that!
