Guitarist ROBIN FINCK Rejoins NINE INCH NAILS - Apr. 4, 2008
NINE INCH NAILS' official web site, www.nin.com, has been updated with a brand new photo of former NIN guitarist Robin Finck with the short message "Welcome back!" next to it. Guitarist Rich Fownes — who has played with UNKLE and has been a member of WITH SCISSORS and THE EIGHTIES MATCHBOX B-LINE DISASTER — is also listed as being part of the revamped NINE INCH NAILS lineup. According to the Don't Tell Your Friends music news blog, Finck and Fownes will join Trent Reznor, Alessandro Cortini and Josh Freese for a world tour beginning July in North America.

Finck has served in numerous touring configurations of NIN, from tours supporting "The Downward Spiral" (1994-1997) to "The Fragile" (2000-2001). More recently, he played in GUNS N' ROSES.

before everyone else from the current version of Guns n Roses leaves and Axl will reunite with the real Gunners. I don't care about Izzy or Gilby just as long as Axl and Slash are together I am happy.

saw robin finck play on the "gnr" tour a year or two ago, and i have no idea what the hype is all about regarding bumblefoot. robin finck topped everything bumblefoot did all night long. tone, skill, the originality and style of his improvised solos, and his spot-on ability to copy slash. never was into nine inch nails, but now when this name comes up i pay attention.

NIN has a guitarist????????? I hope this guy can bring some emotion to the mix and make it music. I'm tired of programed notes, pitch correction and drum machines.

Nine Inch Nails has always had guitars in the music, and live. I also doubt pretty highly Reznor would use any pitch correction. Also, NIN usually has live drums, in the songs they fit (Dave Grohl did most of them on With Teeth).

It doesn't say he quit GnR, just means that Chinese Democracy is so far off, he has time to do an album and tour with NIN before he needs to go back to GnR!

Keep waiting all, Axl loves ya;-)

I'll always have a nostalgic feeling about 90s NIN, and that's why this kind of news makes my day.

Watch the video of NIN at Woodstock '94 and see what Finck can bring in terms of showmanship. Whether or not he's just on loan from G 'n R, I will be at this show in August.

"NIN has a guitarist????????? I hope this guy can bring some emotion to the mix and make it music. I'm tired of programed notes, pitch correction and drum machines."

Imbecile. Seriously. The peanut gallery who's only heard "Closer" speaks. Oh wait, that song had guitar on it too. And there is no pitch correction on any NIN albums, except as a doubling effect on a couple of the Year Zero songs for an intentionally robotic effect.

"Wish" by NIN is heavier, angrier and has more heavy layered guitar tracks than anything you listen to. Guaranteed. Or "Last". Or "Sin". Or "Heresy". Or "Burn". Or any other number of Nine Inch Nails songs.

When I heard Finck was in GNR in the first place my thought was "and he used to be in NIN... how the mighty have fallen...."

COMMENT | Izzy was very important to GNR...

Even though he didn't do much after he left the band (Juju hounds is amazing) he was the mastermind of the band, as another blabber pointed in another post, Slash was just soloing over it, he even admitted himself in his book...

no Izzy = no GNR

I hope I never see the day where the GnR reunites. Not that they would sound bad or anything, cause they wouldn't, but I just don't wanna wish that much evil and drama for Slash, Duff, Matt and Gilby (or Izzy). Axl sucks. Period.

It wasn't until I read Slash's book that it dawned on me: GNR never wote a single original song without Izzy Stradlin. They fell apart after the Use Your Illusion tours because they couldn't sit down & write anything. Izzy was gone.

And since Izzy left GNR, he hasn't been able to write anything relevant. It goes both ways:
GNR needs Izzy, but Izzy needs GNR too.

(When I say "GNR", I'm referring to the original band of course)

nin has had a guitar player all the way back to lollapalooza 91,even though pretty hate machine really did not have much on it,broken and all the rest did.robin is a hella good player,i'll be at the oakland show.oh and by the way izzy wrote most of appitite or was contributur to most of the songs.axl rose is no longer a joke,he's just pathetic,i could care less if he ever puts out those crappy songs everyone has already heard.
