CONQUEST OF STEEL To Record Concept Album - Apr. 5, 2008
UK "true metal" band CONQUEST OF STEEL has announced plans to begin work on its third album — a concept record named "Storm Sword", which is said to be a tale of a dystopian future set in a medieval past. The LP will continue to feature CONQUEST OF STEEL's distinctive take on classic 1980s heavy metal, but will incorporate new musical ideas in keeping with the concept.

Studio time is booked for summer 2008, with recording again taking place at both Priory and Red Flag Studios. A release is planned for early 2009.

CONQUEST OF STEEL recently returned from its most successful European tour to date, taking in Germany, Holland, Belgium and Czech Republic. Unfortunately, the planned Swiss date was cancelled after singer Dan Durrant required hospital treatment for a hand injury following an accident on stage in Leipzig. Dan is recovering well and managed to complete the rest of the tour.

CONQUEST OF STEEL released its second album, "Hammer and Fist", in 2007, which followed the "May Your Blade Never Dull" EP (2006) and the band's debut album, "Conquest of Steel" (2004). All releases are through UK independent label No Face Records.

If ever there was a band that promised far more than they delivered...
