KISS Cancels Belgrade Concert - Apr. 8, 2008
Legendary rock band KISS has cancelled its previously announced May 15, 2008 concert at the Tasmajdan stadium in Belgrade, Serbia. According to Blic Online, "The agency Lupa, organizer of the concert, explained that the agent of the band KISS informed them about the concert cancellation, explaining that it was due to political situation, which reminded them of their previous stay in Belgrade, especially because of the forthcoming elections in Serbia. 'The members of the band regret to inform you that the concert has to be cancelled, but the situation in Serbia does not leave them much choice. However, they hope they will perform in Serbia on some other occasion,' it has been stated in organizers' report. They also added that management of the popular American hard rock band did not explain the reasons, nor what exactly happened during their stay in Belgrade."

when a section of a countrty controversially declares itself an independent nation, i can understand that there'd be security risks, but most people here don't actually follow any news outside of metal

without Ace or Peter. With no new material, no reunion, whats the incentive to see Kiss? I'm a college student, was too young for Reunion/Farewell tours, but if Ace were part of the lineup I'd be at the closest US show no doubt

Henry Rollins walks the streets of Serbia alone but KISS and all their fucking entourage can't keep a scheduled gig? Pathetic.

Meanwhile, Ace is rocking the US and generating some real excitement .

If texas declared independence, would all bands cancel their concerts in LA?

Belgrade is in a completely different part of the country to kosovo which has declared independence, and its still a lot safer than most gangster filled western cities.

Ticket sales were similar to KI$$'s recent US tours...which is, to say, negligible.
