AC/DC Working With Veteran Producer BRENDAN O'BRIEN, Say SUPERSUCKERS - Apr. 10, 2008
Bassist Eddie Spaghetti of the American rock band SUPERSUCKERS has posted the following message on the group's web site:

"I'm sure you're all wondering, 'Where the hell is that new 'SUCKERS record?' Well, rest assured it IS coming. It's just taking a little longer than we expected to get done. Our current snag is that the producer of the new record wants to make some last-minute tweaks and, well, he can't right now. He's been detained by a little Australian band called, uh, AC/DC. That's right, our man Billy Bowers, who did such a stellar job on our 'Paid' EP, is an engineer for Brendan O'Brien [AUDIOSLAVE, PEARL JAM, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, VELVET REVOLVER] who is producing the new AC/DC record and so he's been taken away from our project temporarily. But he assures us that, as soon as he can, he will have the mixes done and that they will rock mightily so we have to just be content with that for now."

XM's Boneyard/VH1 Classic host Eddie Trunk revealed a rumor on his "Friday Night Rocks" radio show on New York's Q104.3 FM on March 28 that AC/DC will embark on a "farewell" tour later in the year once the recording sessions for their new album have been completed.

AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams told Spinner.com in February that AC/DC would enter the studio March 1 to begin recording its first new album in eight years. The web site caught up with Williams at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Los Angeles, where he said, "God I'm ready."

As for touring, however, Williams was less sure about the group's intentions. He explained, "If we go out again or when we go out again, you just never know. We've been around a long time, so we're going to get together and get in the studio and I fully expect we will (tour). I don't mean to be so negative about that."

The band itself is now international, with members scattered across the globe. Malcolm and Angus Young divide their time between Britain and Australia (with Angus also spending time in the Netherlands because he has a Dutch wife). Singer Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams are based in the U.S., while drummer Phil Rudd lives in New Zealand.

Reports surfaced in January that AC/DC was nearly finished recording its next album, but a spokesperson for the band's Australian label, Albert Records, denied the story.

AC/DC's last all-new set, "Stiff Upper Lip", came out in 2000.

Kinda an AC/DC meets Motorhead with a little punk and alot of humor thrown in. Just some good ol' dirty rock n roll. They've actually toured with Motorhead quite a bit.

One of my favorite quotes from Lemmy: "If you don't like the Supersuckers, you don't like rock and roll."

Sunuva Biscuit-Eater! I was secretly hoping that Mutt Lange would produce! I am the biggest AC/DC fan, but I agree this SHOULD be their farewell album/tour. A senior-citizen in a schoolboy outfit is NOT cool.

Really? I never heard that. I suppose they should wrap it up if they are not interested anymore. An 8 year rest makes you wonder if they want to tour at all.

Great rock band, not metal at all, but worth checking out if you're into rock. If you own anything by BuckCherry, Supersuckers won't disappoint you, but I'm not comparing them to BuckCherry. They're not glam like that, just hard-hitting rock w a punk edge.

Are you retarded? AC/DC not metal? A punk edge? I wish someone stabs your ears out and cuts off all your fingers so you can never post here again.

In other news, while it is exciting to think of a new album, I'm wary that it will be another stiff upper lip, which was their second worst album.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

you are either truly stupid or have a brass set of balls. that has to be the most idiotic statement i've read, and coming from a kiss fan. kiss who have been ripping off the fans for years, and don't make any new music but still play the same tired set list.

the crack about the 4th chord......funny sure, but no one in kiss past or present is any better than angus and co. in fact kiss are the masters of "4 chord" rock.

i've been playing guitar for well over 25 years, and ac/dc is harder to pick up than kiss......not that it's hard to pick up ac/dc, but it just shows you how "easy" kiss songs are to play.....and i'm talking kiss from any era...ace, vinnie, mark st.john, bruce......don't get me started on tommy thayer 'cuz he absolutely sucks on guitar
