TESTAMENT Supports 'Earth Day' With New Album - Apr. 22, 2008
To honor Earth Day 2008, veteran San Francisco Bay Area thrashers TESTAMENT will donate a portion of the proceeds from pre-order sales for the group's new album, "The Formation of Damnation", to Greenpeace.

The CD can be pre-ordered under "Merch" at www.testamentlegions.com.

TESTAMENT was one of the first environment-conscious metal bands, having written and recorded the song "Greenhouse Effect" for 1989's "Practice What You Preach" LP which warned of the damage being done to our planet from the greenhouse effect.

To celebrate the April 29 release of "The Formation of Damnation", TESTAMENT and Fuse have teamed up to bring fans exclusive access with the thrash metal gods. Fuse sat down with TESTAMENT for an exclusive interview earlier this year, which will be available on Fuse on Demand, Comcast on Demand, and Fuse.tv.

In Part 1 of the interview, available now on Fuse.tv and Comcast on Demand, TESTAMENT discusses the making of "The Formation of Damnation". Part 2 of the interview features the guys discussing what it's like to have the classic lineup reunited. Part 2 will be made available beginning in May and can be found on Fuse On Demand, Comcast On Demand, and Fuse.tv.

Starting in May, Fuse On Demand and Fuse.tv will have studio performances of two brand-new TESTAMENT songs: "The Evil Has Landed" and "Afterlife".

That is very cool of them seeing how messed up CD sales are and them not being the biggest band. I look forward to the album and will be pre-ordering it.

sorry Testament, and all you other naive librals, but man-made global warming is a total hoax concocted so the government can assume more control over private businesses and your life. Even if it were real, the government should not impose regulations on the market. It hurts businesses which, in turn, hurts consumers.

Testament is, and always has been, one of the best thrash bands however, so i will be getting this CD

Political left wing lyrics, rebellion, social awareness, all because of the strong PUNK roots of the genre. Many hardcore/punk bands from the 80's who learned how to play went all thrashy too, or "crossover" if you prefer.
Before many bands chose to sell out instead of course, like Metallica, Megadeth and the likes.
I spit on such hypocritical wankers. Testament stayed true to their roots, MUCH RESPECT.

COMMENT | Good for them.

All right well I don't support that particular cause, but it's their money so they can do whatever they want. At least they're not "Rocking for Obama" or some shit.

But for the record if you checked the facts, and not the facts on liberal websites, you would know it was a hoax.

lundtheconqueror

This a good enough list for you

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_scientists_opposing_the_mainstream_scientific_assessment_of_global_warming

I look at facts

The earth has cooled down the last 10 years. When earth day was started, scientists warned of the upcoming ICE AGE. But Al Gore (having no scientific background) says it so it must be true. I don't know which way it is, but making Al Gore the leader of this cause has made it a political issue. A political issue that you are not allowed to discuss or disagree with (even with scientific evidence)

Any scholar will tell you Wikipedia is not the place to be citing "facts." Granted it is a wonderful site that both regular people and scholars read, using it as a source to proclaim "facts" will only get you a "failing grade."

Just so you know next time. I would probably recommend respected scholarly and peer-evaluation journals for answers.

You can probably find 20 scientists that know man made destruction of the planet has a negative affect, for every 1 that doesn't think so.

It's all subjective however. You see your view as right, while others can read your Wikipedia article and probably provide you with arguments telling you why you're wrong. The only difference is the arguments that believe humans are aiding to global warming is much larger now than those who don't believe it.

that global warming is a hoax or not the fact is there are other related problems all around concerning the planet and the fact that our careless ways have made an impact on the ecological balance of nature that will surely lead to our demise. It may not happen in our lifetime but every little bit we can do to make a difference now counts. Learn the facts and quite spouting out shit-house rumors that you hear people babbling about conspiracy theories.

And if you believe that the government can control the weather with satellites...you're retarded and need to get out of the house and get laid or something.

The sun drives the climate. Co2 does not cause global warming, warming causes increased C02 levels. It happens hundreds of years before. The earth has gone through global warming and cooling throughout all of history. Polar bears survive at the zoos in Florida, yet on the news they are dying, and they can't swim. China just had its coldest winter in recorded history, must be a magical fluke, because global warming is going to kill us all by next week at the latest. Al Gore & Co are proposing a global Co2 tax that would generate billions. The polar ice caps on Mars and Jupiter are receding faster than on earth, yet man is evil and is destroying the planet. C02 is a life giving gas that plants and animals breathe, yet it's killing us all. The hysteria is propagated by the disgusting Rothschild family & Co, and people involved in the CFR and the Bilderberg group, who write documents saying global warming is not real but should be used for fear mongering. There are hundreds of scientists who oppose the theory, but the only way we can escape imminent death is through global taxation.

I know I'm terrified.

Who the hell was ragging on Testament? They're awesome. That doesn't mean they know what the hell they're talking about. You know, a whole lot like yourself.

I'm afraid I can't help but notice how you whine about backing up what you say say with 'real science', i.e. propaganda, without providing one shred of it. I have to wonder who is the one stuck in their mother's basement, not to mention the mental state of a goldfish.

wow, some hilariously ill-informed discussion on blabbermouth today, baby!

Testament's lack of stability has dogged them, ensuring 'underrated' status probably forever. That said, I've been a mega-fan since "Practice What You Preach" debuted on Headbanger's Ball and the guys have never embarrassed me once. Can't say that about Alternica, Ego-deth, or Rapthrax.

Go Testament. Go Greenpeace. Go progressive, positive action!

Even if global warming is a hoax, or just another Earth cycle, is looking after the environment a bad thing??? People who argue that global warming isnt real act like its bad to take better care of the planet, and we should just keep on going the way we have been. Whether or not we are the cause for global warming (assuming its real), we sure as hell arent doing much GOOD for the planet, thats for sure. So its nice to see that people are finally getting it.
