DEF LEPPARD: 'Nine Lives' Video Available - Apr. 23, 2008
DEF LEPPARD's video for the track "Nine Lives" featuring country music superstar Tim McGraw can be seen online at link text
VH1 Latin America or YouTube. The song was co-written by McGraw, who penned the track with LEPPARD members Phil Collen, Joe Elliott and Rick Savage for inclusion on the group's upcoming album, "Songs from the Sparkle Lounge".

McGraw's tour manager, Robert Allen, is the brother of DEF LEPPARD drummer Rick Allen. McGraw sat in on DEF LEPPARD's Hollywood Bowl show in 2006. "We didn't start with any preconceived notions about the song," McGraw said. "Each of us brought something different to the table, and we drew on each others influence to finish it out. They are simply one of the best rock bands ever, and it was a great time working together."

Audio samples of all 11 tracks that are set to appear on "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" are available on Amazon.com.

DEF LEPPARD's 14th studio album, "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" is scheduled for release on April 29 in North America, April 30 in Japan and May 5 in the UK. The Japanese version of the CD will include a bonus track and a bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes interviews and music videos. The CD will be a limited edition featuring the new deluxe SHM-CD (Super High Material CD) format which is playable on standard CD players.

"Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" will be the band's first LP since last year's "Yeah!", which was a collection of covers of songs by artists who had influenced the band. Their most recent studio album of original material was 2002's "X".

sucked.
WTF?
Enough of these country/rock crossovers already.
Both country and rock have been bottom of the barrell in the past decade or more. There's no need to combine the two.

I dont get this band anymore! They have they fans, a major record deal, and most of the members intact. Why bother us with this?. They are always talking about how they are trying to get back to their early stage of their career. Do they even listen to their own catalogue? Can somebody please give producer Bob Rock a call. These guys most have it in them, they just need somebody to kick their collective ass in the right direction.

I just listened to the clips of the new record on Amazon.com....

This band is dead to me. The last "good" record they did was Retroactive. All of the rest is pure shit. Phil Collen is a talentless douchebag and Vivian Campbell is just useless, collecting an easy paycheck. Joe Elliott can barely sing anymore and Rick Savage looks like a Spice Girl.
I really can't say anything bad about Rick Allen. The guy's come a long way on drums after that accident.

Sounds quite a bit like Armageddon It off Hysteria. Not in the same level though. I like Phil's solo. Not as good as old singles but not bad either. Still looking forward to the new album.

Its just disapointing that Def Leppard refuses to listen to its own fans and they keep putting out this mediocre adult contempory music with no edge to it. Def Leppard were one of the coolest hard rock acts back in the early eaighties. Joe needs to stop whispering through his lyrics and re-learn to scream like he did on Pyromania. On top of everything else "Sparkle Lounge" is the stupidest name ever. Believe it or not this is all coming from a DL fan!

This is like a track 7 or something, not a lead single. *sigh*

Fire Phil and Vivian, bring back Pete, then I'll give them a chance again.

what song were you listening to? this sounds nothing like Armeggedon It. lol

And for the others, I'm not sure whats with the Phil and Vivian bashing - as if they are new members and they are the reason DL sucks now. I think they all are just old and dont know how to rock anymore.

By the way, how the hell did Tim McGraw get involved in this song? Its not country in the least bit (thank god).
