DEF LEPPARD's 'Nine Lives' To Include Limited-Edition Custom PikCARD - Apr. 23, 2008
DEF LEPPARD is set to debut its 14th studio album this coming Tuesday, April 29. "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" contains 11 new songs, including the new hit single "Nine Lives", featuring a collaboration with country music superstar Tim McGraw. The song is currently sitting atop the Classic Rock chart at #1 and also holding at #14 on Mainstream Rock radio. The band will kick off the release of their new album with a slew of high-profile television performances on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" (April 29), "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" (April 30), and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" (April 29).

"Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" will include a limited-edition custom PikCARD, which unlocks the DEF LEPPARD online "Vault" (named after the band's best-selling greatest-hits CD). Inside the "Vault", DEF LEPPARD fans will have exclusive access to a variety of content, contests and memorabilia, featuring highlights such as personal photos from the road, registration to the band's fan club, entry into an exclusive contest to win backstage passes and VIP access the next time DEF LEPPARD comes to the winner's town, new album lyrics — handwritten by Joe Elliott — and a personal messages from the band.

In addition to the album, DEF LEPPARD has partnered with Activision Inc.'s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on an epic three-song track pack that will give fans an exclusive opportunity to sample the band's new single, "Nine Lives", before their upcoming studio album hits stores. The track pack will be available starting April 24 and also features live versions of "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages", two of DEF LEPPARD's most beloved chart-toppers from their multi-platinum "Pyromania" album.

DEF LEPPARD has announced new U.S. tour dates that will kick off this August. The dates include cities that the band postponed recently due to an upper respiratory tract infection affecting the band’s lead singer, Joe Elliott.

If some appreciate that, fine, but I'll pass because the music is outta my league. After all it's quite a jump from all the songs from their first lp to Tim McGraw. Not that he was the reason for their downfall. There's an old Hawkwind song that fits:

'We took the wrong turn years ago'

Okay people listen! This is the real Hard Rock here, the kind of music you should all love if you happen to be a Rock fan. If not I see absolutely no reason for you to be on here.

Now I for one would like to have the Rock back in the charts after all this crap we had to pass for music in recent years but could use some support. So I'd say stop complaining and get the Rock back out there!!

And with Rock I don't mean Punk or all these so called sub-genres like Grunge, Nu-Metal, Emo, Death Metal or whatever the heck you call music. Stop here and vote for ROCK!

Now I think Leppard made a pretty solid song here being their best in years. It's rocking feel good which is just exactly what we need. That's all for now, ROCK on!!

this a welcome change from the crap that was x.if you don'like melodic hard rock then just stop posting on stories about bands that are all about it like leppard. I don't post on stories about the no talent crap bands you haters seem to love so leave those of us who prefer bands that play this type of music alone. they never claimed to be a metal band while you idots who insist their first 2 were their best and metal are right that sound was alittle more harder it still wasn't metal by todays standard. since that standard is is pretty low don't be upset that this band and others don't match up to it. since metal today consists of a bunch people grunting and growling lyrics you can't understand backed by speed gutiars with no melody I am glad leppard isn't metal. but they do rock and this and other songs I have heard from the new one prove it.you haters are just jealous that people still like music made by them and other melodic hard rockers from the 80's because you know nobody will care about your garbage 10 yrs from now let alone 20-25. and yes the leps have written some wimpy songs butrhey also produced 2 of the best hard rock records ever in pyromania and hysteria.and while the first had some decent songs they in no way match up the 2 I just mentioned. so go on and listen to your noise and let those of us who enjoy good hard rock music enjoy it in peace!

If it sounds good to you, then it is good. I just personally feel the songwriting went downhill after Steve passed away. Kudos for keeping at it.

Def Leppard was a good rock band until the Adrenalize album...maybe until Hysteria. They changed from a rock band to a pop rock band somewhere along the way. This is a bad song. The lyrics are horrible. There is no reason that country dude needs to be there. I do like 'On Through The Night', 'High 'N Dry' and Pyromania, though.
