you would have to be a serious asshole to pay 150+ dollars for a drum lesson from this no name hack. if you plan on spending that money do yourself a favor and just get some drum dvd's and research online for free. also buy a decent set with the money you have saved.

also for 150 dollars i better be the only person in the room getting lessons and this piece of shit wiping my ass after every dump i take.

i think he meant "i am willing to pay $200 for some solid drum lessons".

Even Lars Ulrich has said???? Do many even care what Lars has to say anymore??? I sure as hell don't. Lars used to be great but he got complacent. Someone like Neil Pert will never become complacent. Now if someone can find somewhere where Neil said this guy is credible........ then ok.

That I don't really know this drummer, I figured Lick Bisquick used a drum machine, isn't that what (c)rappers do? I'd pay for a drum lesson from Mike Portnoy or Gavin Harrison, not from a guy who staired at Dred Furst Ass all night!

Hope like hell they mean a month, because $150-200 an individual lesson by anyone is a rip off and a half.

And would you even mention you were in Limp Bizkit? I hope not.

He could outdrum half the drummers in metal today? Maybe in the nu-metal genre, but he has nothing to do with like a thousand other guys who play way better than him.
He disguises his supposed quality really well. Plus he hits like a lady drummer.

LOL at you stupid cumguzzlers who think you're automatically a musical genius just because you play jazz. What kind of bullshit logic is that? Having a jazz background is only indicative of good skills, it doesn't guarantee it. Morons.

For the love of all things evil, and sacred... take off the freshly-bought-from-Hot-Topic Iron Maiden shirt before Adrian quits the band again, you tool-belt! I'd pay $200 to impale this little toad with a Vic Firth.

What could anyone honestly learn from this wanker that would not be attained within at least one year of practice? Watch any George Kollias, Romain Goulon or Derek Roddy video's if you would like to see a real drummer giving advice. I also would enjoy paying two dollars to punch him in the face...well maybe not, perhaps I should pity him for his disillusion. Though he did however play for that atrocity of a band.

And to an above poster, John Otto is NOT and never has been a "phenomenal drummer" nor will he ever be able to outplay anyone within the extreme metal drumming circuit. Death Metal/extreme metal drumming is an intense manifestation of intricate Jazz drumming. I'd truly like to see him play and inverse blast beat at 250 bpm in a flat rotation between hi-hat and ride cymbal groove patterns.

Go out to your local jazz bar and see them play, chances are they are far better than you or I could be. They can still put out vapid shit like Kenny G, but jazz is still the backbone of rock, metal, blues and most of the music we listen to today. You can find as much John Coltraine at the core with something like Necrophagist, as you could vice versa. The style and feeling are there.

Take a look at Kiko Loreiro's new CD for an excellent example of a metal guitarist (for Angra) can still do perfect and disciplined jazz.

Either way, Otto maybe had one week of jazz drumming tops. Phil Collins even has better chops than him. This guy's even too soft for smooth jazz. And $200?!?!? My friend Scott:

who has been playing drums for less than 3 years, could blow this guy away fucking EASY!

Let's turn this into a thread about the underrated awesome that is metal drummers!!!! BTW, RIP Vitek.

He's actually a pretty good drummer from what I recall, but I would save my 200 bucks and throw a house party with a shitload of Chinese food and sexy babes from across the way. Plus you could get lessons from some crazy death metal dude for 20 bucks a pop, so it's not worth hiring this dude unless you're a diehard Limp Bizkit fanatic (if any such person still exists).
