SLASH Discusses VELVET REVOLVER/WEILAND Split On MSG Network; Video Available - May 1, 2008
U.S. radio/TV personality Eddie Trunk spoke to guitar legend Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) for a special currently running on the MSG network.

A six-minute excerpt from the interview can be viewed below.

According to Trunk, the following information was revealed during the chat:

"VELVET REVOLVER will continue. They are in the early stages of looking for a new singer. He wants someone who is a pro, but with no baggage. He agrees with me that VR could have made better records and said that due to inner band issues some of the best material written never made the CDs. He said they knew (Scott) Weiland was done prior to the European dates and had made the decision to replace him before he even knew it. The core of the band remains together and committed to making a great album and will continue. He acknowledged the scary similarities between Axl (Rose) and Weiland and how things unravelled, and said he was much more willing to hang in there with GUNS but would not tolerate it again with Scott. He understands how people hope for a GN'R classic lineup reunion, but says it is very unlikely at any point in the near future. He said that there are issues on his end with Axl and issues from Axl's end with him. He feels Axl's issues with him will be harder to resolve than his issues with Axl. Essentially Slash said one of his biggest problem with ever working with Axl again would be Axl being professional and playing on time and showing up for things. He said he could never be in a situation where union overtime and late starts are always an issue, and noted that from what he has seen that has not changed with Axl. He did say he would never say never, but it is not likely and clearly both parties have moved on."

You can clearly see, its not always the other guys fault. Axel and Scott clearly have problems.

But Slash and the boys are 1 fix away. Nothing to plug, yet he's got plenty of time to whine about the other guy. Best of luck Slash.

Right Slash, it's ALWAYS someone else's fault.

Hate to say it, but there's only one common denominator in both occurrences.

He needs to put HIS ego in check a bit. THey want a proven lead singer without an ego? THey just want someone who'll shutup and do what they want. They're job application form basically says 'You cannot think/pretend to be bigger than us and our egos are the only ones welcome; otherwise you cannot play.'

Just shut up with all the bickering in interviews and make some kickass music cause after the last album no one is really in a place to run their mouth.

GNR are done, people should accept it. Slahs and company have moved on and aren't likely to look back.

HOW MANY ALBUMS DO S.T.P. HAVE?
& EVERY ALBUM IS FILLED WITH GREAT SONGS^

SCOTT HAS ONE SOLO ALBUM UNDER HIS BELT,
&
(A DOUBLE ALBUM DUE IN NOV.) did I just say "double"? wow!

2 V.R. ALBUMS

AND
WHAT HAS AXL DONE IN THE PAST 10-15 YEARS????
A BUNCH OF LIVE SHOW & INTERNET LEAK SONGS, WENT THROUGH 10-15 DIFFERENT MEMBERS, NOW FINCK IS GONE?!?!

AXL AND GODLAND BOTH GENIUS MINDS... YES?!
BUT
WITH GENIUS YOU MUST HAVE REPERCUSSIONS,

IF YOU WANT A DOG YOU CAN TELL WHEN TO SIT AND WHEN TO SH*T...HIRE JOSH TODD.

YOU CANT TELL THE JIM MORRISON or MARILYN MANSON TYPE MINDED SINGERS WHAT TO DO AND WHEN TO GO ON STAGE....

PS
GOOD LUCK SLASH AND "HAPPY HUNTING" hehe

roachville9^ knows what time im saying;-)

What singer will want to sing any VR song besides Slither? Go back to the formula of playing songs from the singer's former band, GNR, and originals. If you're replacing Scott, scrap the name he came up with for The Project.

Slash came up with the name Revolver,Scott came up with Black Velvet Revolver
Slash shorten Scott's idea to Velvet Revolver........

Im with the idea of Bach being there lead singer. I hope Matt,Slash & Duff don't
fuck the opportunity again..... If they don't or can not get Bach, then call it a fuckin day

Aren't these band names a little predictable and formulaic? Think about it...

Guns (hard) and Roses (soft)

Velvet (soft) Revolver (hard)

...what next? "Pink Death"?

"Fluffy Destruction"?

"Bleeding Clouds"?

"Hardcore Snuggle"?

dear lord this is never going to end.
My prediction is that they just want to make it seem like they are looking for a new singer to say well we tried to make it work but in reality they know its over and GNR is the only thing they can fall back on...

Watch within the next year its going to be well, Axl called we patched things up and now we are reuniting. Every interview Slash has done this past year is like walking on egg shells when it comes to Axl when before he trashed him like nobodys buisness, and now its well Axl did this but thats ok in retrospect because blah blah blah....You can tell by their actions slash, duff and matt.

Plus I heard that the amount of money they are being offered is somewhere around 50million at his point. And im sure it will keep going up.Who would say no to 100million?

I hope you get banned from here. Fucking bored teenage boys that never felt a vagina.... SLASH is an amazing musician with great leads and writing abilities. YOU ARE NOTHING AND YOU KNOW IT SO I AM DONE WITH THIS TODDLER ATTENTION GETTING SHIT!
FUCK HITLER LOVING RACISTS!

TBONER: You're making it sound like it's a bad thing to be a disciplined, reliable worker/vocalist like Josh Todd. That ain't a bad thing. There are plenty of vocalists that are much, much more genius than Weiland, Manson, and Morrison that also have better work ethic AND more talent! That is BS that you have to be a fucked up dickhead with no responsibility to be a genius vocalist! There are many that blow these guys away that ALSO have work ethic! Many that prove this theory much different!

how could we believe slash? weiland with his experience w/ them.. already said that it's not really axl's fault why GNR parted ways.. and slash was caught to have visit axl's house and have said things about his bandmates and still denies it?.... slash wants a puppet vocalist... what will happen to them?... all they need is a vocalist like axl who can handle them ryt... and axl should go to their rehearsals early.. if I'm slash... I'll go back to axl... and BTW forget matt sorum.. he sucks! adler is better..
