NINE INCH NAILS: New Song Available For Free Download - May 4, 2008
A new NINE INCH NAILS track called "Echoplex" has been posted at this location. The song can also be heard below.

According to the information provided with the free download, fans should look out for a surprise on the band's official web site, www.nin.com, on May 5.

NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor last month released another new song, titled "Discipline", to radio stations. Unlike the instrumental "Ghosts I-IV" album, which was web-released in March, both new tracks actually feature vocals from Reznor.

Reznor released "Ghosts I – IV" online on March 2. The two-hour collection of 36 untitled instrumental tracks was made available in various high-quality DRM-free formats at different price levels. According to a press statement, a total of 781,917 copies of the project were transacted at NIN.com in the first week of release, including paid and free downloads, plus pre-orders for physical editions of the set. The total gross earned was reported as $1,619,420.

The expensive "ultra-deluxe" limited edition of "Ghosts I - IV" sold out almost instantly despite a steep $300 price tag. A digital version is available for five dollars, along with a $75 limited edition "deluxe" package.

With that said, Year Zero and With Teeth weren't very interesting to me. I miss the old NIN stuff. The new stuff seems very stripped down, very basic, very boring.

thought it was well written with lots of hooks and dynamics and variance. they're not really industrial any more but Trent, to me, is a great song writer. if you have Year Zero and don't like it, spin in a few more times in the dark, and read the lyrics beforehand.

if you want heavy industrial metal, check out early Pitchshifter, befor the vocals changed (they were still good but not as heavy).

cheers.
