Report: FBI Reviewing SCORPIONS Album Cover For Possible Violation Of U.S. Porn Laws

Chelsea Schilling of WorldNetDaily reports that the the FBI is now reviewing a Wikipedia photo of a nude adolescent that could violate federal child-pornography laws. The image in question, titled "Virgin Killer" from RCA's 1976 SCORPIONS rock album, depicts a naked pre-pubescent girl (appearing about 10 years of age) in a provocative pose. Her chest is completely exposed and a small crack is placed over her vagina. The album's cover was banned in the United States due to its extremely controversial nature and was later replaced with a photo of the band. When WorldNetDaily brought the image to the attention of several Wikipedia representatives, they denied any knowledge of it. Read the entire article from WorldNetDaily.

I doubt that this was very controversial over in Germany or the rest of Europe. Only in the US would this cause such an uproar.
Spend some time in Europe. They people there embrace their bodies, they are comfortable nude and they aren't ashamed that they have breasts & a vagina or a penis.
Even on TV, what the US would consider shocking is on daily overseas.
Since I looked at the photo at Wikipedia though, I suppose I should go turn myself in to the FBI and register as a sex offender.

I swear, that's what this item makes me think of.
I'll be the first to admit, it's a shockingly tasteless cover; file it under WTF were they thinking?? (It's one thing to have a woman humping a guitar on the In Trance cover, but a little girl..?) But how can this be a legal issue now? The cover was changed in the US, when it was released, right? Did the photoshoot take place in the US? Are the Scorps publishing the album now with that cover?
I don't get it...

I live here in America and must agree with fukkwitt on this one. We have the most moronic indecency laws ever here. This is a very old record, and for the sickos that really are into pedaphelia, I highly doubt that a Scorpions album cover is going to make somebody want to commit a molestation. I'm sure some on here would disagree with that. Its a fact that many Dems are just as tolerant as censorship as many Repugs. The porn thing was mainly Repugs in the 80s though, Meese Commision, etc.

Anyway, I digress. I have the Virgin Killer boxset released a couple years back. Ordered it with a local music retailer and it has that original cover. Its fucked up, but im not named firewind for nothin ;)
Uli is my fave guitarist, but that cover is among one of his biggest regrets in life.
I hope I'm safe from prosecution; I'm guilty of enjoying the shredtastic guitar and awesome songwriting of early Scorpions, lol!
