MR. BIG 'Near-Reunion' In West Hollywood - May 13, 2008
A MR. BIG "almost-reunion" took place at guitarist Paul Gilbert's solo show at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, California on on May 7. Paul invited his former MR. BIG bandmates Billy Sheehan and Pat Torpey, along with fellow ex-MR. BIG guitarist Richie Kotzen (he joined the band as Paul's replacement) to his stage and they played two MR. BIG songs: "30 Days in the Hole" (with Kotzen on vocals), and "Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy" (with Gilbert and Mike Szuter from Paul's band on vocals). According to one fan who attended the concert, "The crowd went CRAZY when three guys showed up on the stage."

MR. BIG is best known for its 1992 acoustic hit, "To Be with You".

I love Mr. Big, but something tells me that if it wasn't in Japan, no one went too crazy when they got on stage.

But I don't care for Eric Martin's voice.

Sheehan and Gilbert rule.

WTF?? First the new Extreme record now this? I think GWB needs to detain 80s hair rockers at Gitmo instead of picking on those poor Arab folks.

to see Mr. Big together again, since I´ve never seen them live. Only Eric Martin + Richie Kotzen.

All I can be is happy that all these bands are getting back together so I can see them.

I saw Mr. Big play w/Paul Gilbert, they were touring with Winger, Mr.Big sounded great, the drill solo was awesome, left before winger started, winger was never a favorite of mine.

One questions never answered - Is the lead singer for Mr. Big male or female?

Myself being a huge fan of Billy Sheehan(I am a bass player), I have seen Mr. Big about 5 times between 1989 and 2000. Twice I saw them @ clubs and the other 3 were opening for Rush.

There might have been a sixth that I am not remember ing right now.

Monster musicians for sure. An old band I was in back in 88 - 90, we used to play Addicted to That Rush.

I would pay good money to see Billy Sheehan on stage with anybody -- The Dixie Chicks, Usher, Mariah Carey -- anybody.

@ZooKeeper, weren't they freakin' awesome in clubs? I saw 'em a couple times both ways, and I loved being 'right there' at the club shows!

Mr. Big were OK. Talas were better in this guy's opinion. I play my old Talas records a lot more often than my Mr. Big (who, let's be honest, really only had one great record and four or five OK ones).
