SLAYER, TRIVIUM, MASTODON To Team Up For 'The Unholy Alliance: Chapter III' European Tour - May 16, 2008
SLAYER, TRIVIUM, MASTODON and an as-yet-undisclosed opening act will team up for "The Unholy Alliance: Chapter III" European tour in the fall. So far only one date has been revealed: November 10, 2008 at Eishalle Deutweg in Winterthur, Switzerland.

The SLAYER-headlined "Unholy Alliance Chapter II: Preaching To The Perverted" European tour took place in 2006. Other bands that took part in the trek were IN FLAMES, LAMB OF GOD, CHILDREN OF BODOM and THINE EYES BLEED.

SLAYER won a Grammy in the "Best Metal Performance" category in the pre-telecast ceremony at the 50th annual Grammy Awards, which was held on February 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. SLAYER was nominated for the track "The Final Six", from the band's 2007 limited-edition "Christ Illusion". The song, written by Araya and guitarist Jeff Hanneman and produced by Josh Abraham, is a chilling look at an hypothesized end of the world. The track made its debut last July as the "Single of the Week" on MySpace where it had accumulated more than 750,000 plays, an astounding number for a song that received no commercial airplay.

do they insist on bringin those trendy mallcore bands on tour when they actually can have real, extreme, untrendy and successful bands supporting them? Yeah, i'm talking about Testament, Exodus, Nile, fuckin' Overkill, hell... even smaller bands (but fuckin' quality acts) like Suffocation, Vader, etc. Does it have to be ALL about the money? I thought they had awakened from the dream about gaining fans by having gay and trendy bands playing with you.

Love Slayer live and have got used to the fact that they ALWAYS have shit support bands, going as far back as Malice on the UK leg of the "Regin In Blood" tour!

Slayer AND Mastodon on the same bill? I'm there. Shame Trivium are in between the two. It's the equivalent of eating a shit sandwich on really nice bread. Still, it'll be a good night out so bring it on!

LMAO...I first head these guys on one of the Metal massacre tapes and often wondered why someone would actually like that band. And then they were mentioned and even showed in concert on the old ass Fred Savage/ Judge Rienhold movie Vice Versa. Crap bands is an understatement when it comes to Malice.

My money is on Trivium's new album being really good.

Lord bundy,

Trivium are not the worst band ever, you are an idiot.

I'm a 42 year old man, been listening to metal for 30 years, and while Trivium are not in my top 20 favourite bands, they are a talented band.

Trivium are one of those bands that have a better chance, talent and image wise, of being something good. At the moment everyone just bashes them because they are pretty arrogant and think that they are top shit... fair call

I love how Heafy thinks that just because he stopped screaming that he is "real metal". Ummm, righteo then... why are you so up yourself? You haven't got a right to be, you still need to earn your goddamn wings kid...

Slayer and Mastodon seem to work well together.

Slayer, obviously becuz they are Slayer, no explaination.

Mastodon, because they are just fun to listen to and watch. They are like the Pink Floyd of metal. Honest to god, I consider Leviathan to be their "DSOTM".

Anyone else agree?

I wouldn't leave the venue. I would be back at the bar drinking heavily for two reasons: one, to make the putrid, douchecore music of Trivium more tolerable and two, when I polish off two pints of Guiness, I will fill one with piss and throw it at Matt Queafy...
