Bassist Robert DeLeo told The Pulse of Radio that he wasn't nervous about the band making its comeback in front of such a huge audience. "No, I just feel like there's a lot of myself feeling comfortable with what I do onstage and, you know, sometimes you get in the way of yourself," he said. "And I think we all have those issues once in a while, and I think just keeping an open attitude and just trying to have a positive attitude and enjoy this would be great."

Joining STONE TEMPLE PILOTS on Saturday were FINGER ELEVEN, SHINEDOWN, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, SERJ TANKIAN, STAIND, DISTURBED, ASHES DIVIDE, AIRBOURNE, RED, 10 YEARS, THEORY OF A DEADMAN and FILTER.

Sunday's (May 18) lineup includes FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, ALTER BRIDGE, FLYLEAF, SEETHER, PAPA ROACH, 3 DOORS DOWN, SAVING ABEL, REV THEORY, BLACK TIDE, BOBAFLEX, DROWNING POOL and SEVENDUST, along with headliner KID ROCK.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS has added a batch of new dates to its reunion tour. The new shows are scattered across the length of the entire trek, which runs into late October. The band has tentative plans to record its first new album since 2001's "Shangri-La-Dee-Da" in November once the tour ends.

Newly announced STONE TEMPLE PILOTS tour dates:

May 25 - Wallingford, CT - Chevrolet Theatre
Jun. 04 - Detroit, MI - The Fillmore Detroit
Jul. 05 - Indianola, IA - National Balloon Classic Field
Jul. 11 - Montreal, QC - Bell Centre

Aug. 3 - Southaven, MS - DeSoto Civic Center
Aug. 16 - Elisabeth, IN - Caesar's Casino

I was at the show, and even though the set was fine, it seemed like the crowd was not all that impressed. After Disturbed played, people left in droves and it continued during STP's set. I think people were waiting for "Sex Type Thing" and other songs off the bat, and they played more mid-tempo stuff at the beginning.
Not a bad show, they might want to switch up the set list a little bit in the future.

Dead and Bloated and Crackerman are kick off songs, save Big Empty for later. I hope No Way Out and Unglued find their way into the set list.

Seeing as this could be Scott's last tour, they need to play the hits....so he can afford his drugs.

I have to say that I've always found STP to be somewhat overrated. I'm surprised that they are playing such large venues on the reunion tour...I really didn't think they had that big of an impact the first time around. Outside of the Purple album, I found most of their stuff underwhelming and usually derivative of someone else's style (Nirvana, Alice in Chains, etc.)

I WANT MORE FROM SHANGRI-LA-DE-DA!!

So long as they're doing lots of midtempo stuff, how about some "Hello It's Late" or "Regeneration"? And how about "And So I Know" while we're at it? That is one of their most underrated songs ever.

Decent set, they're rotating every night so it should be interesting to see what else they come up with.

...and Weiland is not a waste of life. He's been a cocky prick lately, but the man has his problems.

And of course they're going to play their hits. At $125 a pop, they better!

Last I heard, Coma, Lounge Fly, and All In The Suit That You Wear weren't hits.

Wow....that is really a ridiculous statement. So Weiland is more talented than Cobain, Cornell, Vedder, Farrell, etc. Give me a break! He should be in a cover band, because all he does is rip off other people's vocal mannerisms and stage moves.

So Weiland is more talented than:

Cobain - Oh God Yes
Cornell - No, but if Cornell keeps coming out with the solo stuff he is, it will only be a matter of time
Vedder - Without a doubt
Farrell - Yes

any more?

Weiland is good, not arguing about that but if Libertad is the way his writing is going then i wouldnt hold much hope for the next STP album....assuming they make it as far as the studio obviously!

With all due respect, Weiland himself would tell you Cobain was light years ahead of him in terms of raw talent and creativity.

This whole "Weiland is a poser" thing is really annoying to me (not what emperor said, other people). The only time I thought he was being a total knockoff of anyone was "Let It Roll" from Libertad is blatant Jim Morrison biting.

Sex Type Thing was influenced by Jim Morrison, not Eddie Vedder, and I thought it was very well done. Who exactly is he channeling in Interstate Love Song or Big Empty or And So I Know besides...himself?

If you think that Weiland is more talented than Cobain and Vedder, then I'll just leave it at that....it says a lot about your musical and artistic taste, but to each his own.

Nirvana was one of the first bands I got into, I listened to Nevermind on repeat on many occasions. I'd honestly rank Weiland as a better lyricist, and Cobain as an overall better songwriter (he had a good ear for arrangements, melodies, etc). Never found what was so great about Pearl Jam, so thats easy I think Weiland is better than Vedder. Soundgarden was great, but I listen to their greatest hits and I actually listen to STP's albums. Staley had better pipes than Scott, and Cantrell is a better lyricist. Farrell is another one of my favorites, probably a toss up between them.

"Ugh, I hate 'greatest hits' setlists. Y'know, STP, you don't have to play your singles ALL OF THE TIME."

Yo do if your band's just started to make a comeback after 5 years of inactivity. Even if we've heard many of these songs already.
