Former ANTHRAX Singer BELLADONNA Sitting Behind Drum Kit For Solo Dates; Video Available - May 22, 2008
Former ANTHRAX vocalist Joey Belladonna has been forced to perform select dates on his ongoing "Never Look Back Tour" as a three-piece, with drummer Paul Marciano sidelined with pneumonia. Instead of cancelling shows on the trek, Belladonna's solo band — which includes RC Ciejek on bass and Jack Frost (SAVATAGE, SEVEN WITCHES) on guitar — has soldiered on, with Joey himself playing drums and singing lead.

Fan-filmed video footage of BELLADONNA performing the ANTHRAX classic "Got the Time" (JOE JACKSON cover) at The Reverb/The Big Bop Concert Hall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on May 19, 2008 can be viewed below (courtesy of "RUPERTSHANK").

OnTrackMagazine.com recently posted a new audio interview with Joey Belladonna. Joey discusses the "Never Look Back Tour" and reveals more details about the circumstances surrounding his departure from ANTHRAX in 2006. In addition, he talks about the latest addition to the BELLADONNA lineup, guitar "master" Jack Frost, and what fans can look forward to from his band in the not-too-distant future.

Listen to the interview at this location.

The Never Look Back tour will take Joey and his band across the U.S. and Canada, then sending them to Mexico, South America, Europe and Australia by year's end. In their downtime from touring, BELLADONNA will be hard at work on a new album due some time this fall.

Nice one Joey! The show must go on and to anybody who has ever played drums and sung at the same time - then you know how cool Joey is for doing this.

Never really liked Joey Belladonna, but I respect that he did that rather than canceled.

I'm tickled how his album is titled "Never Look Back" and then in EVERY BM article it points out he's a former Anthrax singer.

Well done to Joey for carrying on with the tour and picking up the sticks. Not bad either, it's bloody hard to drum and sing lead!

kling_klang_bed: Seems like it'a a BM thing. They still refer to Sebastian Bach as former Skid Row even though he's a very establish household name and that he was in SR 20 years ago.

New found respect for Joey here, WTG dude! Can't wait to see him Monday!!

He is really great behind the drumset,

When Belladonna first came back on the scene prior to joining Anthrax again for that short stint, he came to Clifton Park NY to do a show with himself behind the drumset. The crowd had more fun at that show then when Anthrax came around with him in front of the mic. I will never forget that. Rock on.

Man, I grew up with Joey in Anthrax in the mid-80's and have been a fan of Anthrax up until Joey left again and it was obvious Bush wasn't coming back. Anyway, I have far more respect for Joey after watching that than in the 20 odd years I have been a fan!! Saw the reunion in CT. few years back and it was one of the better shows I'd been too!!

Never been huge on Anthrax though they arent too shabby, but massive respect to Joey for covering both drums and vocals. I can't do either one very well alone, let alone do both together. Very few can.

Joey started out initially on drums alone back in the mid to late 70's, then as needed, or as a certain song required, he started doing vocals as well. After a short time he ended up doing mainly lead vocals as he progressed, then in the 80's when he joined Anthrax, he left the drums behind for the most part. Regardless, he's very good at doing both together when he has to. I've got rehearsal tapes from the old days loaded with him doing just that, as well as a few stage photos from gig's singing 80% of the leads & playing.

He's actually a very good drummer, and very polished. It's like riding a bike, you might be a little rusty at first getting back on it after a time away, but it soon comes to you.
I played with Joey for several years in bands, and when I wasn't playing, I was doing sound & lights for bands he was in. We've been close friends since high school, and to be honest, he's the "real McCoy" when it comes to music.

One way or another, as far as he's concerned, if there's anyway possible...."the show must go on". The fans are what the music is all about......period.

Knowing the guys very well.......I wish Paul the best in getting back to better health. And until then, Joey, Jack & RC will fill things in to their best..........press on !

Bob
