Original NOTHINGFACE Lineup Reunites, Begins Work On New Material

The original NOTHINGFACE lineup — Matt Holt (vocals), Bill Gaal (bass), Chris Houck (drums) and Tom Maxwell (guitar; also in HELLYEAH) — has regrouped and has started writing and recording music for a new album. This marks the first time the band's original members have worked together as a unit since NOTHINGFACE's "Violence" record in 2000. A teaser clip of a new song has been posted on the band's official MySpace page. Check out some of the new preview clips below. NOTHINGFACE's fourth album, "Skeletons", was released in April 2003 via TVT Records. The group disbanded in February 2004, citing musical differences, internal turmoil and label troubles. NOTHINGFACE reformed a year later with the lineup of Matt Holt, Tom Maxwell, Jerry Montano (bass) and Tommy Sickles (drums) and went on to do a small U.S. club tour before Maxwell and Montano launched the HELLYEAH project with former PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott and members of MUDVAYNE.

I really dont get it u freaking internet trolls that got nothing better to do and go into other bands news forum to post shit like:"Have yet to hear any Nothingface. Should I be applauding this announcement??" wtf if u dont like the fuking band dont post shit about them, go to ur corner where ever the fk it is and route for u deathmetal bands or whatever fk u listen to that u think is great... and for more positive review even thought most people that post on this site, granted nothingface may not be ur cup of tea of music but its one band that stand the test of time with all the turmoil with the label and amongs themselves.. happy for them to be back together original line up and they get the credit they deserve... villians is one of the best song they written...

I want to say this band was the first of three bands on Pantera's RTS tour. Their set was nothing special but I guess if your band preceds Morbid Angel, then your band better do something memorable. That I can say did not happen.

This is an awesome announcement. All their albums are awesome and I do agree that they are underappreciated. Maybe now that they're not dealing with TVT, they'll get some more promo! Oh yeah, Industrial_Helvete can suck a dick, that nancy-boy fun licker. Mallcore? Shut the fuck up.

It's not the original lineup without Dave Gabbard. He was a great vocalist. We used to play shows here in Baltimore with the original lineup. Tom & Bill are super cool dudes!

Hopefully an album will come out of this as we been hearing about a new cd for a few years now. Love Nothingface but the wait for a new cd is killing me. Also would like to see them do a headlining tour.

I agree with the guy who talked about internet trolls. Bizkit Boy being the latest one.
Nothingface rules, so I am glad good bands who broke up are now reuniting. But then again it says alot about the state of metal today with all of the unoriginal bands coming out.

The difference being they wrote that riff you learned in 2 seconds. If technicality established the worth of a song, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple wrote a lot of bad "Classic" songs. Writing good riffs, and playing them is 2 different things. If you look on the internet, 12 year olds are ripping Yngwie, just like Yngwie. It's coming to the point where any tool can play Pantera or Steve Vai. They didn't write any of it though. It's not easy, but you can train your fingers and brain to do any pattern with your fingers....may not turn out sounding just like it, but it will resemble it with practice and technique. That doesn't mean you can write it.
On the other hand, when you get done with your accoustic cover set of Steve Vai at Potbelly sandwiches and nobody is paying attention, maybe you'll rethink things, and play some "easy" riffs like the beatles.

These guys are one of the best bands of the '90's/early '00's. I fucking loved Audio Guide, Violence, and Skeletons. I was bummed as hell when TVT fucked them into breaking up, and when I heard "Let It Burn" and "Walking On Bodies", like, three years ago (holy SHIT, that was a long time), I was so fucking psyched... took WAY longer than I thought for them to get back into a studio, but with the original line-up (barring that early-90's/late '80's tragedy) back, it was totally fucking worth it. HOUCK and GAAL are fucking BACK!!! This is the best fucking news I've heard all month, man. I am so fucking psyched.

you know mallcore is a term you quick (moronic) thinking kids come up with to pump up your egos. That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard...mallcore....what about moviecore and home depot core. Dude..that's so 7-11 core. No way man..they play Subwaycore..it's not burger king core. Only mallcore people use the word mallcore..and well...you called it. There are so many stores at the mall too. Foot Locker core..and wait ....I know there's more. And if you meant Hot Topic more specifically...then i'm sorry but I doubt they have any Nothingface shirts or any other merch...except maybe a cd..but then again...Hot Topic carries many different styles of music now in the cd sections. Do your homework boy..do your homework.

I love Nothingface. I'm not gonna claim that they are the most talented band in the world but I love their sound and I think they kick ass. I don't understand why some people in the metal/rock community feel the need to bash anything that they don't like. If you don't like it, don't listen to it and shut the fuck up. It doesn't make you cooler to bash someone else's creation. You fucks that do that shit probably don't know how to play anything but the skin flute. peace.

Why is everyone fighting!...grow the fck up...If you don't like Nothingface than what the hell are you even looking them up for...if you're intrigued by the band look it up and any of us hardcore fans should be willing to help them explore the greatness from the first album to the last....and whoever comes in here saying they aren't metal needs to some metal education....and I don't want to hear anything about them having mellow songs...if that stops you from being a metal band than every metal band to be successful since Sabbath isn't really metal and what the fck is Metallica...I love Nothingface more than any other metal band in existance and it's my right to do so...it's your right to come on a nothingface page and bitch about them too...just means you're a tool with nothing better to do with your life than look up bands you don't like....suppose Tool isn't metal either!! Nothingface is awesome and the new album would be fcking deadly....And I won't be visiting an Opeth site tonight just to bash them...don't like 'em don't look for them!! Just using them as an example because they are a band I don't like...cheers to those that do.
