TRACII GUNS Version Of L.A. GUNS Parts Ways With Singer PAUL BLACK - May 29, 2008
The L.A. GUNS version featuring guitarist Tracii Guns has parted ways with vocalist Paul Black. An as-yet-undisclosed replacement singer with "blond" hair has already been found and will be officially announced soon. The band has also enlisted a new guitarist, Alec "Big Al" Bauer.

L.A. GUNS recently spent time at a Canadian studio recording its new album, tentatively titled "Pretty in Black", with producer Steve Thompson.

On the topic of whether the new CD recordings will be scrapped now that Paul Black has been dismissed from the group, Tracii said, "I have a singer up here that actually wrote most of the new songs. He was just supposed to help but, now he's gonna have to sing as well. At least I can now guarantee the record will sound amazing… FOR REAL!"

Paul Black reportedly co-wrote most of L.A. GUNS' fan favorites from the band's classic self-titled debut album for Polygram Records. The group (with Paul Black on vocals) released a CD titled "The Black List" in 2006, which was a collection of previously unreleased recordings of L.A. GUNS standards from 1986 and 1987.

The L.A. GUNS version featuring Tracii Guns has been confirmed for this year's Rocklahoma festival, which will be held July 9-13, 2008 at the Catch The Fever Festival Grounds, four miles north of Pryor, Oklahoma.

Tracii Guns' L.A. GUNS, which features Jeremy Guns on bass and Chad Stewart on drums, is not to be confused with the Phil Lewis-fronted group, which is also continuing to record and perform under the L.A. GUNS moniker.

GlamMetal.com's 34-minute interview with Paul Black conducted earlier this spring can be viewed below.

So much for the "original" L.A. Guns. What's their new name, "Not so original L.A. Guns"?

I can't believe Paul Black could be so stupid and play two gigs in Mexico by himself but listed as L.A. Guns. That's a damn good reason to get fired for.

Tracii can't even play like he used to. Stacy Blades, who's in Phil's version of LA Guns, plays Tracii's parts better than Tracii can even play them now.

so ok, 'some blonde guy' is writing the new la guns material, but he was just there to help out, but now hes gonna have to sing it as well? who else is writing the material, big al bauer? this news story is terrible. give us some news about what necrophagist is doing, where they're practicing and secret bootleg videos of their practice spaces..

I have no interest in Traci's LA Guns. Prefer Philips' Guns and thought Tales from the Strip was one of their best!!!!

Two Things...

1) Isn't it funny that a band with ties to Guns N Roses is also having lineup problems?
2) Doesn't Paul Black look like he wants suck that interviewer off...? What a creep

Traci needs to bury his pride and get back together with Phil Lewis and Steve Riley thlast time I saw them with this line up they were great. Whether Traci will admit it or not Phil Lewis is the voice of LA Guns. Failing that get Brides oF Destruction back together.

Too bad they wern't Glam or Metal then. The funny thing is though, I like Necrophagist and L.A. Guns, but for entirely different reasons.

As for this nice piece of news, thank fuck for that. Paul Black isn't a patch on Phil Lewis and it's about time Tracii got back in L.A. Guns and followed on from where they left of with Waking The Dead, which was a great album. Tales From The Strip didn't do much for me.

Eat your heart! Was with GnR but left (cause he though LA Guns would be bigger) then GnR got Slash and became one of the biggest bands on earth, then two decades later, formed a band with Nikki Sixx called Brides of Destruction, had no success despite all the buzz, Nikki jumped ship and now look at the Crue did a huge Reunion making millions!

...it's inevitable!

I can't see Tracii going back to Phil at this point... he's too much of a flake to be trusted... and a BOD reunion is virtually impossible (even when you exclude Nikki), as he couldn't get along with that singer, either (see a pattern?)...

I'm sorry but I'm more confused than ever! I saw L.A. Guns last year at Rocklahoma. Which "L.A. Guns" is the one to see? I know this is at great debate.....

saw the REAL la guns a few months back and they were great. they sounded great, phil sang great, it was just a fantastic show. i guess at this point traci's just going to call whatever band he's in la guns. he should join adler's band and they can call it appetite for guns or something clever like that.

of course as a fan i wish they'd bury the hatchet and traci'd rejoin la guns with phil and steve, but he left those guys high and dry and the sad fact is that stacey holds his own just fine. phil plays a bit of rhythm guitar here & there when needed, but not much.
