ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA Reunites; VELVET REVOLVER, ZZ TOP Members Jam At 'Battleground Earth' Show

ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, the band featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee, guitarist Gilby Clarke (ex- GUNS N' ROSES), vocalist Lukas Rossi and bassist Johnny Colt ( BLACK CROWES, TRAIN), reunited for a May 28 performance at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles at a benefit concert for the reforestation of Griffith Park, which was devastated by recent wildfires. This event was filmed for a televised broadcast. Other guests that performed include SWITCHFOOT, TRAIN with THE DOORS guitarist Robby Krieger, BLUE MAN GROUP with special guest Ziggy Marley, members of VELVET REVOLVER with ZZ TOP's Billy Gibbons, BOWLING FOR SOUP with TWISTED SISTER's Dee Snider and more. As previously reported, Tommy Lee and hip hop superstar Chris "Ludacris" Bridges star in "Battleground Earth", a reality competition that features the duo battling against the toxic forces destroying mother earth as they travel across the country on a 10-episode tour. The series premieres in August 2008. ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA's self-titled debut album was released on November 21, 2006. Give me andone valid reason why this embarrasing waste of a band needs to "plug-in" again. I have a hard time imagining the promoter's thought process in conceiving this as a good and valid concept for this benefit show. That is the only saving grace, it's for charity. Should have thought of the idea of threatening to book "Rock Star" unless a minimum of $$ was raised. There's an incentive to give.....

that i have viewed from this event, have been just good rock'n roll!! I appreciate musicians who contribute to charity related events.
On the subject of Jason Newsted, what I've read...he is participating in the production of Voivod, but is still unable to play bass. Jason will not actually be the bass player on the new cd. It's still uncertain, if he will even be able to tour.
