Former KORN Guitarist BRIAN 'HEAD' WELCH Sets Release Date For Solo Debut
- June 5, 2008
|
|
Former KORN guitarist and founding member Brian "Head" Welch will release his debut solo album, entitled "Save Me From Myself", on September 9 via Driven Music Group/ H2C Records, and distributed by Ryko/ Warner Music Group. The CD's first single, "Flush", will be made available exclusively via iTunes on July 8. A video blog from Head making the announcement can be seen at www.brianheadwelch.net. Welch's memoir, "Save Me from Myself: How I Found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Drugs, and Lived to Tell My Story", rocketed into the New York Times bestsellers list after its first week of publication last year, debuting at #20 on the "Non-Fiction" list. For more than a decade, Brian "Head" Welch was lead guitarist for the controversial rock band KORN, but in early 2005 he shocked the international music community when he abruptly quit the band and announced that he had been saved by Jesus Christ. His announcement in front of 10,000 people in Bakersfield, California set off a media frenzy, as people from around the world sought to understand what led this rock star into the light. In the book, Welch talks for the first time about how his tumultuous life with the band led to his surprising decision to quit KORN. Head's announcement: CNN report on Head's split with KORN and his new life:

I can't wait to hear all the dumbass insults about Head's newfound faith. From the same folks who would feel so insulted if their own beliefs or actions were so stereotyped and characterized.

I don't get insulted. I'm judged every day.
The only reason I hate on Xtianity is because Xtianity has been hating on my beliefs and trying to change people with my beliefs since the begining of Xtianity. Well, that...and I have no respect for someone that can't accept that they have the power within themselves to change themselves. They need a 'Book Of Lies' to take accountability in case they end up making a wrong decision.
I appreciate another Xtian album though. I always appreciate how well these albums capture the real world and how beautiful Xtianity. Xtianity is of course the cure to all of the worlds problems.

I rip on all kinds of religion. They are all the same except for Buddhism, which relies more on good deeds towards everyone around and worshipping your ancestors... rather than beating your children for swearing and worshipping make-believe beings
Satanism isn't that much better. I know. I read the satanic bible... my friend has it and says its a very good book. Its so not. Anton whatever his name is was a fucking nutcase.
he concept of Satanism seems okay compared to Christianity and such, but you still gotta go to church, kill innocent animals, and all that shit that comes with religion... its a waste of time...

okay if you don't piss them off. Protestants and Lutherans are pretty okay people... my dads girlfriend is Lutheran and shes just great. Catholics are pretty nutty though, and its because of them that I decided to be atheist
Anyone noticed that in all these comments Heads album has only been mentioned like 3 times?

Dude, all I meant was that SYOTOS and Untouchables were "okay albums"... not their best, but no real weaknesses... although their first album was definately their best, without a doubt
Great idea though. Actually they should do what GNR did and release two albums at the same time...
One heavy, funk-rhythm inspired behemoth... and one electronic mellow, proggressive album

Typical of you religious types to start straight in on the "offended" ticket. If your beliefs or any others are insulted tough fucking shit. If it wasn't for people on this planet taking offence over their beliefs we would actually be living in a lot safer environment.
Gotta go, got to take a shit on all religions.

It doesn' matter what brand of philosophy's you honk about...if you start a crusade and a verbiage of I am right and you are not...you just became religious and I hate you already. I respect the right to believe whatever you want...make music about it...put it in a forum that I can choose to read or listen to it... or not...but don't come at me with it and that includes Satanists as well. I kind of like thinking for myself. Korn and Head are just like any other family...look around in your own and you will see them both. The older they get the more it won't matter and we will all be old farts listening to the reunion tour. LIfe is LIfe. Go Head...make all the music you want because I love music...even griping about the bad stuff...

Seriously.....he was supposed to have been working on this before he even wrote his book.

Don't let reality get in the way of a good story.
PS, I read a few posts up where someone considers Buddhism to be a religion. There are no deities, at least in most forms of Buddhism (Tibetan Buddhism does), and souls are simply considered energies meant to be harnessed. Don't know how someone could possibly associate it as a religion. It's an application, much like a martial art.
PS, Siguel Rinpoche's "The Book Of Living And Dying" is a great book indeed, one of my faves.
