ROBERT PLANT & ALISON KRAUSS' 'Raising Sand' Album Earns Three AMERICANA Nominations - June 11, 2008
According to Nashville's City Paper, the Robert Plant & Alison Krauss CD "Raising Sand" has earned three of the most prestigious nominations for the seventh annual Americana Awards.

Besides being nominated for "Album of the Year", Krauss and Plant are also among those tabbed for "Duo/Group of the Year", and a tune from the CD earned a "Song of the Year" bid when the nominations were announced Wednesday afternoon in Nashville.

The seventh annual Americana Music Association Honors & Awards show will be held Sept. 18 at the Ryman Auditorium. Once again the show will be hosted by Jim Lauderdale and feature a house band led by Buddy Miller.

Got a story about her and it IS legit. A buddy of mine works at a studio in Nashville that he interned for during his final semester at MTSU. Krauss was in there back in March and was leaving a session for lunch or something and he heard what he said was a 'nasty-ass explosion". She stopped in mid-stride and said to her manager, "Damn. I can't tell if that came from my pussy or my ass." They recorded it, too.

Not a metal album, but a great Sunday-Morning-N-Bake album. Going to see them this Friday!

Not metal at all, but really an amazing collection of songs. Plant did what other artists try to do in their later years-- come up with something different and excellent.

Hopefully the success of this project makes him more comfortable with revisiting Zep and head toward a full-on tour.
