STEVEN ADLER's Mother Selling 'Piece Of Rock Royalty Lifestyle' - June 15, 2008
According to this eBay listing, Deanna Adler — the mother of original GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler — is selling "a luxurious strip-view Las Vegas condominium . . . in the prime location of the prestigious Las Vegas Country Club, a place that Steven Adler could call 'home.' This is a truly exciting opportunity for anyone who wishes to not only live in the heart of Sin City, but to own a piece of and experience rock royalty lifestyle." The starting bid is $750,000.

According to a posting on the eBay auction page, "Deanna is relocating to Los Angeles as she puts the finishing touches on the book 'No Bed of Roses', a much-anticipated tell-all which documents the rise of her son in the most exciting rock band of all time."

As previously reported, Steven Adler and WHITESNAKE vocalist David Coverdale's ex-wife Tawny Kitaen are among the celebrity patients undergoing detoxification and treatment at a center in the Los Angeles area on the second season of the hit reality series "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew". The series, consisting of eight one-hour episodes, is slated to premiere October 2008 on VH1.

Similar to the first cycle, the second season of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" will follow Jeff Conaway as he checks back into rehab after a series of back surgeries, setbacks and subsequent reliance on pain medications. Joining him in rehab are Sean Stewart ("Sons of Hollywood"), Amber Smith (model/actress), Rodney King, Nikki McKibbon ("American Idol"), Adler and Kitaen. Gary Busey, who is 13 years sober from his cocaine addiction, will also be joining the cast to take the journey with the others and to share his experiences on the recovery process.

The series will chronicle the patients' intensive 21-day program with both group and one-on-one therapy and non-traditional therapies like art and music. Returning to the show to help Dr. Drew are drug counselor Bob Forrest and resident technician Shelly Sprague who have each spent years on both sides of the rehab fence. Dr. Drew is also bringing in some additional prominent physicians to help him give the patients supplementary one-on-one care. The patients' families will also be more involved with their recovery programs and, in some cases, will receive treatment themselves. After they completed the program, the patients will be strongly encouraged to continue their treatment in a sober living facility or treatment center for at least three months at VH1's expense.

Steven Adler SUCKED on drums BEFORE he fried his brain. He sucks even more now. To claim that he's better than Matt Sorum is beyond absurd.

It cracks me up how people like to rate musicians on technical ability when music is all about style and feel. I don't know how good Adler is these days, but his drumming on AfD was better than Sorum's drumming on UYI, because Guns n' Roses' music has nothing to do with technical ability. Yeah, Yngwie Malmsteen is probably a "better" guitarist than Slash too, if you look at it strictly on technical ability, but so what? That's an idiotic way to compare musicians. Sorum was a bad fit for Guns n' Roses -- they were a different band with him driving the rhythm. And AfD -- the only reason we still talk about these guys -- would not have been as good with Sorum on drums, period.

Matt Sorum: soulless mercenary.

Steven Adler: rock n' roll groove master.

VERY well put and I wish people could get that! I thought purely on a technical proficiency level when I was a teenage guitarist with something to prove. You grow up and learn that there is more to music than just technical ability. In fact, there is SO much more. Feeling is EVERYTHING! If I don't get a cool feeling, which usually comes through simplicity, melody, and catchiness, then I don't wanna waste my time anymore. A band like death has feeling and technical ability and believe it or not, so does Yngwie.

As far as Adler goes, he is really shot. At least 2 decades of crack and heroin abuse. He won a quick $1.5 million because of a lawyer's error that was defending G 'N'R. I never really found his playing to be as stand out ish as Slash or Axl - those guys are just amazing! I suppose people like him for the punkish raw edge he gave the band once. Sometimes, though, that sounds like an excuse for someone with lack of overall ability.

He sounded pretty burnt from the get go though. He doesn't sound much different now then he ever did - and that is really shot sounding! They're going to make him the new Ozzy of Reality TV comics.

I don't mean to diss the guy. He was at the right place at the right time with G'n'R for sure. It gave him millions and a severe unlimited supply of drugs for years and years. I'm not trying to knock him, I'm just going by what I see here.
