Heavy Metal Fan Vs. Pennsylvania Church

David Hurst of Altoona Mirror reports: It seems church services at Believers Fellowship Church [in Revloc, Pennsylvania] have become part of a rock 'n' soul showdown between a lively congregation and a heavy metal-loving neighbor. Since Joe Vermeulin moved into the former Holy Redeemer Church parsonage next door, church members say their services have been interrupted by outdoor speakers blaring BLACK SABBATH, MARILYN MANSON and AC/DC's ditty "Hell's Bells", creating friction between the sides. But Vermeulin, whose home is about 15 feet from the church, and some neighbors believe the church's musical worship and electric praise band are too loud. While Vermeulin says he isn't trying to incite the church with his radio, he and neighbors are collecting signatures to urge the church to tone it down. Read the entire article from Altoona Mirror.

What a shock, you buy a house 15 feet from a church and you hear a loud worship service. Kind of like the idiots who buy a house an airport and complain about the jet noise. This has nothing to do with religion. It is about common courtesy, which nobody has any these days.

as has been pointed out. Try to put yourself in another's shoes. For Richman, Fugazi2112, BlackXmetalXcore, Brutal Judgement, Northern Darkness, etc. you know full well that as much as you guys like metal, it's a matter ofg time and place. Think it through: when you're watching a Lifetime movie, thge last thing you guys want is to have loud music blaring when you're trying to watch your program and not miss a word, right?

Actually, Jesus was the very first metalhead. Here was a guy that had long hair, walked around with all these radical ideas, which he was eventyally persecuted for.

Sounds like an old school hard rock guy to me, like one of the juke box molesters at your neighborhood dive bar. Probably a redneck. He's never heard of all the bands you guys are listing.

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord" is what the Bible says. That guy knew he was moving in beside a Church when he moved in there. He is rude and irreverant and those actions show he needs the Lord! He should go to Church and join/contribute to the congregation. There are so many unsaved people in this world turning their backs on God. We live in a modern day Soddem and Gomorrah. Everyone, saved and unsaved will have to account for every minute of their lives to the Lord on Judgement Day. Make sure your daily minutes count now so you won't be sorry later.

God is not about hellfire and brimstone. God is Love.
God might be love but Christianity is all about bloody crusades, the same institution which provides hope to the masses that there is something beyond this world has sent countless thousands to their death in defense of those beliefs... I have no issue with your God if believing in aGod keeps you from blowing your brains out when life gets tough so be it. I have a problem with a religion so steeped in hipocrisy it can see the back of its teeth through its own ass... Organized religion is a tool to control the masses, the original version of the Bible didnt even include commandments, that version was created for the Monarchy as a method to control the populace...

I know there's hipocrisy....its everywhere...no matter what...the hard part is to see through that...
Luckily we have a pastor at our church that also knows this and he even talks about it.
He doesn't preach. He teaches. Our worship services are all word for word teaching straight from the bible.
Calvary Chapel Churches teach this way. If you feel something leading you....go ahead and give it a try. They don't force anything upon you. They lead you to where you would like to go.
