Can I have a job at Roadrunner just like yours??Amy responds:
Only if I can have a job at McDonald's like yers! JK! JK!
Question:
Can you please clarify this for me?: If roadrunner does not accept demos, how do you guys find new bands to sign? Did you guys have a "search myspace for generic sound-like Trivium bands that have alot of friends" department or what?? I dont get it. I work for a label and we hear about some really amazing bands through sent in material. Have you heard of Bison B.C.? (formerly known as Bison) Yeah, didnt think so. I bet Monte is kicking himself in the nuts as you reply to this!Amy responds:
Huh? You mean Bison BC on Metal Blade? Why would I give someone as brilliant as you all of our trade secrets? We have ways of finding bands. It's why we've been so successfully in business for so long!
Question:
hey dont you find it kind of odd that 90% of the questions asked on here are about demos and internship you need to make a page or somthing letting these ppl know because obviously they dont get what ur saying.complete idiots would you agree.i mean all they gotta do is read past questions.Amy responds:
I love you. I delete tons of the same questions about interning and demos. B/c people don't pay attn and since they don't pay attn, they probably aren't a smart band or smart enough to do intern work. It's like any smart person will realize the work it takes to be a band and to be an intern.
Question:
May a long life and posperity to you. Please list me songs from Opeth that has no death growling vocal in it. Let's say cause I am lazy to hear each of their songs. My gracious thanksAmy responds:
Pick up a copy of Damnation.
Question:
Sammy Hagar?! I wrote to you a while back just as the recent VH tour was about to kick off. You said you might go if they came through Philly, etc. (Did you ever go? They did put on one hell of a great show for the die hard old school fans). I love Sammy, with or without VH he's a class act and a true professional. He not only has fun, but he delivers 110% every time, and that is a rare thing at live shows these days. No real question in sight here for you unless you want to elaborate on how RR got to sign him up?Amy responds:
I did not go. I went to the NJ show in May, at the Meadowlands, I mean IZOD center.
Question:
Here is this question, again: Are Slipknot breaking up after touring?Amy responds:
Is the Pope Satanic?
Question:
I know of a great band looking for a record deal, do you have any advise?Amy responds:
Not enough liquor in the universe or enough deodorant for this conversation.
Question:
What are you thinking about Chinese Democracy. I think that Sheckler's Revemge is great, but I think it will be extremely overhyped. I think it took way too long to get the album out and now Axl better not push it back. Guns N Roses is a great..collection of artists, I guess you'd have to call them. They are such a huge inluence to many bands and I hope that one day we will see the original line-up again. What do you think?Amy responds:
I think I love Appetite for Destruction and I was just listening to "Used to Love Her" on my iPod this AM. I think that the original line up is the classic line up that I care about... and that Chinese Democracy is a solo album that Axl is pilfering as a G N'R record. I WILL SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES FOR WINNING THE WORLD SERIES! I am from outside of Philly, so this is a joyous week for me!
Question:
hey amy! What is the status on Black Label Society?! I'm looking for my idol everywhere but he is nowhere to be found? Are they working on something or just touring? Fill me in girlAmy responds:
Last I checked, BLS isn't going to put a new album out for a bit while Zakk works on other projects forthe time being. Miss that big lug!
Question:
I want to email RR to suggest a band but i don't know the email address. What is it?Amy responds:
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Question:
Hey, I've done a research about Amy Sciarretto, and the result is: girl, you're a legend already! Writers rocks!Amy responds:
You're blowing up my spot :) XO
Question:
Amy, How do I email NickelBack their website has no way of contacting them and I have questions about their music to ask them?.Amy responds:
Unless your are a journalist at a majour outlet, there's no way to contact them and ask them about their music, sadly.
Question:
When you come to argentina???Amy responds:
When you buy me first class plane tickets and 5-star hotel accomodations.
Question:
Amy, I've only recently been gettin into heavy metal. I've heard some amazing bands with really kick ass growls and screams such as Lamb of God, Slipknot, Pantera, Hatebreed, Arch Enemy, Shadows Fall, Devildriver, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, etc. and they're all awesome! but then my friend daniel told me that chicks actually sing in heavy metal bands. I listened to a few of them, and to be honest they all suck. I mean seriously, Otep, In This Moment, Walls of Jericho, Flyleaf, The Agonist, Kittie... They are all terrible. So my question is, why do women try to "man up" and try to do the vocals, when it's obvious that they can't do it as well as guys? seeing as how you're a woman i guess you would have the most logical answer. Thanks.Amy responds:
I can't even begin to dissect the levels of sexism in this question... YOU think they suck. You think they are trying to "man up."
Question:
why dont you sell tickets ? it's damaging to my nerves to look at those pages of ehm, i want an easier way !Amy responds:
B/c we are a record label that sells CDs, not tickets. Ticketmaster. Ever hear of it?
Question:
Someone asked about the members of Five Pointe O. I was actually looking this up a bit ago because I miss the band. They formed 2 other bands The Renaissance and The Burning Down. Neither by themselves are as good as Five Pointe, but I prefer The Burning Down. Hi Amy, love reading your responses :DAmy responds:
Thanks for your assistance. Has anyone listened to Gary Busey's Buseyisms on this Celeb Rehab show? That guy is a nutjob!
Question:
i just wondering about this i've been listening to the roadrunner untied album alot lately ask wanted to know is there a possibitly of a second roadrunnerrecords untied CD being talked about. cuz i heard about the DVD i'm exicted about it but would think that it would be great to have another disc .Amy responds:
It was to celebrate our 25th anniversary, so there won't be another one. It was a once in a lifetime type of release. That was an organizational feat and quite difficult to pull off, but it happened. I think the peeps who put it together need a couple decades off before they'd consider doing it again!
Question:
Okay, are you guys being seriuos?! Is Nickelback's new album really called Dark Horse? Let me guess, its a duet album with Dani Filth?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! LMFAOAmy responds:
Yes, why is that so surprising?
Question:
why does the music press try to create inter band feuds? i mean theres the trivium vrs evile one which is stupid being as evile ol posts on the trivium boardAmy responds:
B/c controversial stories sell magazines. But also, bands sometimes get misquoted or out and out say dumb shit in interviews.
Question:
How would I get Roadrunner to take intrest in me recording some of there artists for there pre production?Amy responds:
We don't do that.
Question:
Hi Amy! :) I come from a small town called Barrie in Ontario and although this question is going to sound like a typical "crazed fan request", I want to assure you it is not. I will try to sum this up simply and shortly. I was looking for SOME way to contact Cory Taylor from slipknot via a fan mail letter address or something. I have been searching high and low(INCLUDING their official website) and have had no luck. My soul purpose of this is...and this will probably sound a little nuts and I am guessing that if Cory could read this he MAY actually understand where I am coming from. I wanted to contact him only to HOPEFULLY somehow get a responce to a question I have for him re: his first meeting with his father. Cory and I have went through the EXACT same thing in THAT sense in our lives. My dad bailed as I was being born in the hospital. And like Corey, my family wont tell me anything...I dont know his name, what he looks like, where he came from...NOTHING. Alls I really want is for hime to give me some advice on this situation as I feel he is the ONLY one who can TRULY understand where I am coming from. I am not asking to meet him, althought I would love to...I just want to ask him how he went about finding his dad...how he prepared mentally for their first meeting etc....do you know of ANY way possible to send him a letter??? an address or something??????? signed...desperate and heartbroken from Barrie, OntarioAmy responds:
Your story and request is quite heartfelt... and I can see why you'd relate to Mr. Taylor. But unfortunately, if you can't find someone's contact info, it's probably because they don't want it to be found. Especially with artists and famous people and celebs. We do not give out our artists addresses. To anyone. Sorry! But, I would suggest, perhaps trying to meet him at a show. Fans have encounters with the bands they  love all the time and that would probably be your best bet.
Question:
Just wondering why you don't have a store?( Shirts, stickers, etc.) Would LOVE to wear a RR, " T " or plaster my cases with RR stickers.......WAIT!!! I just Googled it and found the answer..... it was already asked and answered on another part of your page. But it said that if more people asked, then maybe one day it will happen. So, here it is. Imma askin! By the way....I'm sorry you had to set your MySpace page to private....Should I do a shameless plug for my band now?......Nah...let the music do the talkin'....Amy responds:
Maybe we will eventually have more RR gear. People seem to want it...
Question:
Will Roadrunner ever make another All Star Sessions CD?Amy responds:
No but the DVD of the landmark RR United concert will be out on 12/9.
Question:
DevilDriver new album 2009, how do you think it will turn out, what month? and lastly...ever think of a site upgrade, everyones doing itAmy responds:
TBD. And the upgrade just happened. Bye bye to the big red monster. Hope you all like it.
Question:
hey, i heard the announcement that spineshank are finally back together n stuff but how come roadrunner has'nt re signed them?!?! i read their with a new label instead :SAmy responds:
Our time with them is in the past. We wish them the best of luck though!
Question:
i was arguin with some mates the other night in the pub right n we've got a proper 50/50 siding on: is Sepultura really sepultura anymore?!? seeing as when max left sepultura was'nt the same anyway and even though derrick greens pretty sick n theyve written some sick songs to pit to, now that iggors left the band it just isnt sepultura at all anymore - if theres no cavalera then its no sepultura. what do u think ???Amy responds:
Were you drinking Guinness? IMO, Sepultura without any Cavaleras doesn't seem like Sepultura to me.
Question:
Hi Amy,i was just wondering how I can meet the Guy's here in Perth western australia,I named my baby girl atfer Corey and would like to get his autograph for her memeroy book...I am going to my first Slipknot concert and would dearly like to meet them..I was told to check the airport but How do I find out when they get here...Thank youAmy responds:
Make like all the other fans and try and meet them at the show.
Question:
when will slipknot be releasing news about a U.S. tourAmy responds:
Soon.
Question:
Why do you guys jock garbage bands like slipknot and shitty metalcore and not bands like Saviours, Coliseum, Municipal Waste, ect. Thanks!Amy responds:
Oh shit, we got this shit again, like Eddie Murphy's dad says. I am so tired of this question. Sorry you think Slipknot and shitty metalcore are garbage. We sign and market bands we like and think will sell records. That doesnt mean we don't like bands like Saviors or Municipal Waste. Love Dave Witte. But we can only sign so many bands and we sign full time, touring bands.  We can't sign everything out there. Try opening your mind a little and learning how a record company works before disguising an opinion as an ill informed question!
Question:
Do you know if Nevermore has actually broken up or are they just on hiadus. I know Warrel Dane and Jeff Loomis are doing separate side projects but I don't know if or when Nevermore wil record again. Please tell me you know the answer to this question.Amy responds:
They are not broken up to my knowledge.
Question:
Hey Amy, love the ask amy stuff, makes me laugh every time ) lol any way on to my question, i am in a punk band and ive been doing a lot of reacearc (sp sorry) on the music indisrty(sp again sorry) and i was wondering how you felt about the preception that the record lable isn't needed with todays tecnolgy and i am wondering why or if i should try to attemp to get singed to a record label? thanks much loveAmy responds:
It depends on a band's level and status. If you are a young, new band, you don't have the resources or the funding that a record label does to promote your music. You can make music and put up Mp3s and send it to people, but without the label's relationships, backing, support, you can't go anywhere. Already established bands... that's a whole other ball of wax.
Question:
did jason mcmaster (danderous toys) ever get married??Amy responds:
Let me call him and ask him.
Question:
Thank you guys for signing 7th Son. They are amazing. I just was wondering what you think of these new bands you have been signing. It's good to see more bands lke 7th Son getting reckognized and signed. I hope you continue to give these great bands a chance. I was also wondering if you have heard Ironweed's debut Indian Ladder. It is a great metal album and think you would enjoy it. You should have signed them before Small Stone Records snatched them up.Amy responds:
Are you friends with 7th Son, hehe? I think it is great that we are adding new blood to our roster's veins.
Question:
do you know if KoRn Have any gig dates planed for 2009 in the uk,cheersAmy responds:
No.

After getting really into music I thought it'd be interesting to try out an instrument, not to try and go pro or something, but just for some fun.
Thanks for your time :D
