I host an Internet radio show on metal and I have a question regarding
Carnivore. I heard a few tracks of what I believe is the re-issue of
their first album. I used to own the original way back but don't have
it anymore. Listening to the new release, it seems that this is a total
modern re-recording. Is that the case? Maybe it's just me and I haven't
heard the album in awhile. If you could let me know if there were
indeed two recorded versions of the album, that would be great and I
could pass on some promotion of the disc on my show. Thanks.

After the Carnivore album was turned in to the label back in 1985, the label rejected the mixes feeling there were too bass heavy and clean sounding (guitars were buried) and made the band go back in and remix it. The remix is what came out on vinyl back in the day, and on the original CD release of the album in 1988 (it only came out overseas as part of a series called 'Price Killers").

But all the CD versions of the album in the 90's (the double CD in the early 90's, and the recent reissue as a single CD) utitlize the original mix. Pete Steele insisted on this since he always preferred the original mixes. And at that point, no one at the label cared any longer, so we said "sure".

You must have heard one of the 90's CDs. I personally prefer the remix - it sounds way dirtier and more aggressive - but it's is now impissible to find unless you get the old vinyl or that 1988 CD. Hope that clears it up for you.

No, you don't get compensated for pitching an idea. I have an idea, I'd like a pepperoni pizza. Should the pizza joint give it to me for free just because I pitched the idea that I wanted one?

I just purchased 4 tracks by Amen on your website. I downloaded the first one, but I could not go back and download the other 3. How can I go back and retrieve those that I purchased and download them?

I want to get a record deal with Ross Robinson. How do I contact him?

Yeah? And I want to get a deal with vivid video so I can get paid to plow hot chicks. WAIT, if I search for Vivid Video online, I can find their site...and therein, there is a place I can submit my info to be a 'model.'

You can do the same with Ross Robinson. Search his name. He has a website - iamrecordings.com. There is an address on his website where to submit demos to. If you want to get a record deal, you are going to have to do a lot of footwork on your own.
