More goodness on the boil!!!!
We have been working with the Aussie development team who put the backend of signmeto together to come up with a huge manifesto of improvements and feature upgrades that we are hoping to implement over the coming months.
Yes, it can be frustrating waiting for things to come to light. But there is indeed light ahead for some of the more requested items you guys are looking for.
Vanity URLs - we have bumped these up to the top of the list. We want you to be able to promote your signmeto pages without cutting and pasting giant, gobbledegook addresses to your fans!
Easier sign up - we plan to strip some of the hurdles out of the system and make it much easier for anyone who has a RR website log in to quickly join as a scout and/or artist.
Improved navigation - it can be tough finding artists so we are going through all the various areas where pages are discovered and improving the user-interface to make the engagement with the site more intuitive.
Ratings - we are going to simplify the rating system and also make the chart system more accurately reflect the bands that are generating the most heat.
There is tons more stuff that we have on the list that I can't reveal just yet - the whole process of improvement may well take up to a year, and your ongoign feedback is very much welcomed.
I can also assure everyone that the A&R staff and our scouts are keenly aware and enaged with signmeto. They may not be actively rating and commenting on bands everyday, but already signmeto is their #1 destination for online research for new bands. So rest assured that we treat contributions to signmeto from artists VERY seriously.
Thansk again for your involvement!

Commondead is spot on, this is a great project but I've gone to a few band profiles & saw somewhat rude comments towards bands by immature scouts. Given, not every band will be "your style" but respect should be practiced & fair comments given (even if the band sounds like garbage to be cruel be respectful). Its almost too easy to be a scout, so many people haven't bothered with their profile. Some profiles I've seen only promote one band so it looks like they signed up to only check out that one band. To me that is where it feels "too myspacey". Maybe perhaps there should be a weeding out process of serious people that actively check out music? Even sites like Model Mayhem have a screening process to make sure that the users are genuine in their involvement. Why not here? Just my two cents. » Add Comment » Close Comments » Report Abuse10.13.2009 InsaneJane wrote...
