Jamey Jasta remains the pitch-man for terminally pissed. His peeps remain dead-end doods that will forever don a 'Breed T-shirt. “Give me your broken/Give me your beaten" shouts Double-J on "To The Threshold" and you know the party is on for everyone: race, sex, creed, income or brewski preference included. And who woulda thunk that Jamey’s yearly Stillborn Fest would be sorta hardcore Ellis Island?
"Supremacy" remains a strong link in a chain of rock solid rock-solid hardcore work-out with a few added guitar textures courtesy of newly added guitarist Frank “Three Gun”.
There's a bit of Tony Robbins-in-Camo-self-help-babble that engulfs this one. In the liners, Jamey admits that before penning this opus all was not good -- opener "Defeatist" a lickety-split blast of what the doctor ordered.
If this be a soul-shanking, then it's a damn good one: "Give Wings To My Triumph" is the sort of feel-good number you can pump your fist to. "Destroy Everything", the album's WWE centerpiece is a fucking brilliant slab of repetition that steps out of the Hatebreed formula with a groove that gives no-let up. Think the bastard offspring of Trent Reznor and Vince Mcmahon with Chris Beattie laying down a smooth bass-line guaranteed to be sampled on rap records for years to come.
"Never Let It Die" also takes the mid-tempo route for Jasta to flex MC skills. Shame Hatebreed was just a couple years too late for the "Judgment Night" soundtrack.
Bottom line: Hatebreed know their peeps and aren’t about to disappoint. Grab the maces that go with their logo and start swinging!
