Having one Joey Jordison onboard as producer helped ready the warriors of 3IOB for the upcoming campaign and definitely had its impact on the snarl of the finished product. And FYI true metallers, it wasn't Slipknot worship that brought these Canucks together with Joey -- it was on a tour they did with Norway's Satyricon where Joey filled in on drums that the metal bond was forged.
Where "Advance and Vanquish" was occasionally schtick-y and hot-rodded (not to say that it didn't have the best Priest anthem since "Painkiller" in "Deadly Sinners"), "Fire Up The Blades" is a much more serious matter -- and yes, when they delve into hordes of goatriders, gladiatorial battles and tales told in vast dining halls in Middle Earth.
Ride on Goatriders, ride on...
