The album that started it all and unleashed the power of Slipknot to the unsuspecting, but hungry masses.  Featuring the favorites "(Sic)", "Wait And Bleed" and more.  An essential for all metal heads.

ill, drop a small story about slipknot, when i had first heard them (have even heard OF them in fact) was at a live show in Lewiston, Maine. Slipknot opened for Coal Chamber an when slipknot took the stage i was floored, astonished somewhat scared an amazed( yeah hlotta mixed feelings, but when they busted into (SiC) after thier intro i was soo impressed i had pushed my way through the crowd into the moshpit an needless to say it was the most brutal pit i have ever been in, atleast 5 poeple were taken out of teh civic center in an ambluance(noone died thankfully) and if the brutatality of the music wasent enough the band them selves started to fight an beat the shit outtta eachother on stage, wich drove the crowd even more crazy. i had tried to buy thier cd at the show, but the merch booth was sold out of them :( i had become infected with the plague that is slipknot! the very next day i went to local record store an picked up thier first album (first cd with Cory taylor) the self titled masterpiece, then on vacation not more than a month later i picked up a digipack @ a bestbuy in flordia (have lost that cd sence an NEVER found it again, Nor can i find any actual existence of it[by that i mean the tracks that were on it] all that said i stayed a loyal slipknot fan, browsing ebay i found a copy of M.F.K.R. (Mate Feed Kill Repete) loved that asawell, then when tehy put out iowa i had a new reason to say GODDAMN slipknot fucking owns the metal scene. Sadly thats the end of my happiness with slipknot, shortly after iowa (oir long i cant remember now its been years) i read about an heard stonesour an was apalled an disgusted, and lost alot of faith in slipknot, but alass i gave them another chance when they put out Volume 3 the sublminal verses. an boy am i sorry that i did that it had a HUGE stonesour sound nowhere near the energy or fuel from Iowa, or the self-titled. an my friends.... that was teh death of slipknot, i fully notice people still like them an thats fine, but as an old school slipknot fan i cant support this shit they call music that tehy are putting out now. sad days for me when that happend, but alass thats how things work bands come an go, they get too big too fast an go to shit just like metallica (altho metallica was a titan untill load and re-load was put out) off sjb there sorry, back to slipknotan a good thing about them, i went to amany many of shows before they did that stone sour crap an every show was amazing (tho none ever lived up to the first one i saw in 1999 in lewiston maine) thats about all i have left to say on this matter. and i KNOW im not alone with this GIANT letdown form a powerhouse that shocked the world with theier introduction to the metal scence. an to the band them selves..No Hard Feelings, Guys but you lost my faith an its probly gone forever makes me sad cause iowa, and teh self titled were sooooooooo Deep an powerful then these new cds are just PURE SHIT anyway, Bring Back the old KNOT an renew my faith PLEASE! and i would have put this long ass post on the main part of slipknots page here, but couldent find where to do so.. BRING BACK THE OLD KNOT PLEASE! AN GET BACK TO REAL METAL GUYS! Old fan, D

When i First heard Slipknot it blew my mind.
Although my parents raised me on Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Metallica, and Motley. It was like nothing i ever heard before. it was during the summer of 99' and my mom got the self titled album for me (My Mom Rules)
as a 4th of july gift also after months of begging for it since that fateful day Wait and Bleed hit the radio the first time.
I Instantly fell in love with the band that would change the pace of metal.
From bringing metal back to arena's and showing the media that metal never went away. Through the good and the bad. Slipknot has Helped me along my journey of this fucked up world. Bullies, breakups, death, and all the bullshit in between. This album will always remian the album that changed my life.

When I entered middle school, everyone was all into KoRn. But out of nowhere, there was this band called Slipknot, that had nine members that wore masks. And then their first album came out, it was so heavy, had so much anger in
it, that it threw KoRn aside, and Slipknot became a big thing at our school. Everyone's all
headbanging to their songs, and some of their songs were played at assemblies. One day, the world would be ruled by maggots:)

When i started high school in '99 it was korn this and korn that. And then out of no where this album comes out. So heavy and so angry and the mainstream actually ate it up.
This album changed metal on a huge scale...a lot of you prolly know that already. And if you don't you do know! :)
