I remember first listening to this Album at University in 2001. At that time, I was still with my first boyfriend for about 3 years. It was the most disfunctional relationship ever. I had met him when I was 19 years old, and at first things were great, but as I grew to have feelings for him, he would pick arguements with me, and because I loved him, I didnt want to leave him. So I cried a lot of the time, because he was my first and I was so in love with the idea of being in love. I mustve been so naive. The first moment he picked a fight, I shouldve left. But didnt. Then he would play mind games with me, and make me feel special, then he doesnt call. I used to have sleepless nights laying by the phone , waiting for it to ring,...and it never did. Then as I left messages for him, he would reply, apologetic, and invite me over to see him again. He also made me do things I didnt want to,...but I stayed,...cause I just then was scared if he left. But after another year, we were having a conversation, and I was so excited that we had been together so long, and thought we could commit to eachother, but he suddenly went silent. I had poured my whole soul into this first relationship, and received only the hugest let down after 4 years. He just said he liked things the way they are, and couldnt commit to me, even though he said he was divorced. My heart broke, and I drunk myself silly, trying to kill the pain, and all the tears I had been through in that relationship over past 4 years. Until today, I look back, and it is the most draining memory of my life....
It was at university I begun to put my poetry book together...So i hope you liked the copy I gave to you :)
So my darling Chad, that song you sing...." I wana rip his heart out, just for hurting you,....always comforted me, as I used to imagine you being the man who would fight for my honour...
And so,....ever since this then in 2001, I have been a devout fan, of NICKELBACK,......AND SO, WHEN YOU WORE MY HAT LAST YEAR AT WEMBLEY ARENA,AND PLAYED A TUNE FOR ME......
IT HEALED MY HEART,....AND I THANK YOU......
I also like..."How you remind me.......""....It helps me let go of the heartache of love.....
YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!
I LOVE YOU CHAD!!!
Sending all my love, Hugs and Kisses....
