Systematic Chaos, the ninth album and Roadrunner Records debut from progressive metal masters Dream Theater, marks a new beginning in the band’s storied career. 

Committed to always upping the ante from one album to the next, guitarist John Petrucci explains “You can’t compromise with the type of music that we play and the relationship we have with the fans.  The integrity factor has to be there, otherwise people see right through it.”  With Systematic Chaos, Dream Theater has refused to play it safe and, instead, have taken their creativity and musicality to new heights to not only appease their ever loyal fans, but also to reach out to all rock fans with hook-laden rockers like “Constant Motion,” “Forsaken” and “The Dark Eternal Night.”

Produced by John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy and mixed by Paul Northfield (Rush, Ozzy, Queensryche), Systematic Chaos sees Dream Theater taking the best elements from their previous albums from When Day & Dream Unite through Octavarium to expand upon them and create their most innovative album yet.  “If there’s anything we did on this record on purpose, it was that we left out more sensitive, softer material” says Petrucci.
