Roadrunner "Dark Days" - Coal Chamber
Coal Chamber
Dark Days
Artist: Coal Chamber
Release Date: May 7, 2002
Dark Days are coming...
Rising from the ashen glow of LA's goth-metal scene, Coal Chamber, innovators of the Spooky-core sound, return to the front of the genre they helped create almost a decade ago. Their Gold selling self-titled debut laid down a granite foundation of brutal, tuned-down guitars, agonized vocals and thunderous beats. Their follow-up, 1999's Chamber Music, built upon that foundation, drawing from a vast array of experiences. Their new album, Dark Days, draws from both of their previous releases - taking the best elements of each and leaving only sonic detritus in its wake.
"I'm approaching this piece of work from a very raw standpoint. The lyrics will reflect at times very cagey, powerful emotion. The majority of the lyrics are inspired by things gone through by the band, and the turbulent times in my personal life over the past 2 years," confides vocalist Dez.
He later tells, "this album is way more aggressive, way more emotional, and about 10 times heavier than the first one. For me, this record is an all out assault. Every song feels live."
