Opening for Metallica not one month ago in Las Vegas, Machine Head's guitarist Phil Demmel sat down to talk about the massive tours the Bay Area metallers have found themselves on in the past year. And with all the buzz around Thrash's legendary Big Four playing European festivals next summer, and the growing excitement of seeing Slayer and Megadeth on the same bill right here in the US, Machine Head are already way ahead of us having played with three out of the Big Four (see: all but Anthrax) in the past 12 months.

"We've had the best tours and its been really, really good," explains Demmel when asked about the band's massive line-ups. The guitarist goes on to discuss how having Metallica's James Hetfield join the band on stage to perform "Aesthetics of Hate" was "one of the highlights of my musical career" and answers the question of why Machine Head have not headlined the states in 2009 with another question, exclaiming, "How can you deny [playing with] Slayer and Megadeth?"

Following a review of the December 5th show, Demmel discusses more tour memories and discloses the band's future plans as he talks about the band's upcoming run with Hatebreed and Bleeding Through.
