THE VAMPIRE FREAKS DIG OPETH!
The vampire freaks have good things to say about the latest phenomenon that is Watershed:

"Opeth have been carving their way through the world of music with their brand of guitar driven madness. Having been born from Stockholm's recognized world of metal, they seemed poised to show the world how ready they were to take over. They broke away from Death Metal's signature blast beats and speed riffing, lairing their music with melodies of acoustic guitars and harmonies."

I had the great misfortune of seeing Opeth open up for Dream Theater in Richmond in May. Opeth was the most garbage shit I've ever heard. Sounded like a bitch version of Meshuggah. Between the Buried and Me is 20,000 times better than those Sweetish Bitches. Why did they not open for DT? It's mind blowing to recall how closed minded Opeth fans are too. I've never been around bigger douchebags in my entire life. Fuck Opeth, I saw the singer after their set outside in the smoking area giving some dude a handjob in the corner.

I've been on such an Opeth kick since I picked this album up. I've read several reviews of their new album and despite some reviews claiming they've had too many prolonged softer passages on this album, I think it sounds flawless in its execution. And the heavier portions of Heir Apparant and The Lotus Eater are heavier than almost anything they've done since My Arms, Your Hearse and Orchid.
I personally think this album and Meshuggah's ObZen are about the best albums of 2008 thus far, and this Opeth album will far and away be the best thing put out by Roadrunner this year (sorry, Slipknot, you completely lost me after that joke of an album Vol. 3)...
